Made for the right-hand drive X5 E70 and X6 E71 with CIC
This screen is a plug-and-play replacement for the factory display in right-hand drive X5 E70 and X6 E71 cars from 2011-2013 with the CIC system. Android runs alongside the original BMW system, and the original CD player doesn't need to come out.
CIC has a 4-pin LVDS port and a CD button on the iDrive controller. Left-hand drive CIC cars need QLB42X5CIL, NBT cars need QLB42X5NB, and CCC cars need QLB42X5CCL (left-hand drive) or QLB42X5CCR (right-hand drive). If you're unsure, check your VIN or ask your dealer.
The 12nm octa-core chip (2xCortex-A75 2.0GHz + 6xCortex-A55) with 4GB DDR4 RAM and 64GB solid state storage runs Android 13.
14.9 inch QLED screen
The QLED panel gives strong, rich colours, which makes maps and album art easy to pick out at a glance. Its slim, fully laminated design with a custom bezel and 2.5D edge gives the dashboard a full-screen look like a newer BMW.
IPS viewing angles
The IPS panel keeps the picture clear from the passenger seat as well as the driver's seat, which matters on a screen this wide.
Wireless Apple CarPlay
Your iPhone connects without a cable, so maps, calls and music appear on the big screen while the phone stays in your pocket.
Your iPhone connects on its own when you start the car, so there's no cable to plug in. It needs an iPhone with wireless CarPlay support; check yours in Settings > General > CarPlay. A cable still works when you'd rather charge on the way.
Wireless Android Auto
Android phones connect wirelessly too, bringing Google Maps, music apps and voice commands to the dashboard.
Maps, calls, messages and music from your Android phone appear on the car screen, with Google Assistant for voice control. It needs a phone with Google services, which most Android phones have. To connect without a cable, the phone must support wireless Android Auto too.
Built-in 4G
Insert a SIM card and the unit has its own 4G connection for navigation, video and apps, without using your phone's data. The 4G antenna is supplied.
A SIM card in the head unit gives it its own internet connection for maps, traffic and streaming, so it doesn't need your phone's hotspot. You supply the SIM and the data plan; a data-only SIM is usually the cheapest way to do it.
Wi-Fi
Connect to a phone hotspot or your home Wi-Fi for app downloads and updates.
Built-in DSP
The DSP lets you adjust the sound to suit the car, so the music is balanced around the driver's seat.
The sound processor lets you tune the sound to your car: an equaliser, a delay for each speaker so the sound centres on your seat, and crossovers that keep deep bass away from small speakers. Start from a preset and change one setting at a time.
RCA audio output
An RCA audio output lets you add an external amplifier or subwoofer later.
RCA pre-outputs send a clean, low-level signal to an external amplifier or subwoofer. Count the channels you need (front, rear and sub) against the outputs in the specifications. You'll also need RCA leads and power wiring for the amplifier.
Screen mirroring
Mirror your phone onto the 14.9 inch screen to use apps that aren't part of CarPlay or Android Auto.
Mirroring shows your phone's whole screen on the car screen, unlike CarPlay and Android Auto, which show apps designed for driving. It usually needs a companion app on the phone, and paid video streaming apps often block it.
Mini microphone
The supplied mini microphone can be placed near the driver for clearer hands-free calls and voice commands.
USB
A USB cable is included for connecting a phone or USB storage.
Optional add-ons
The unit works with optional XTRONS accessories: a dash cam such as ACDVR2K01, reversing cameras such as ACCAMAI01, OBD2 scanners (OBD01S, OBD02, OBD03, OBD04), DAB+ tuners such as USBDAB04, and TPMS08 tyre pressure sensors.
Recordings from a dash cam show on the car screen, live or played back. It needs a USB dash cam made for Android head units; an ordinary dash cam with its own screen won't connect this way. Mount the camera behind the mirror, clear of your view.

The screen is a plug-and-play replacement for the factory display, fitted with the supplied mount, screws, face panel, ISO wiring harness and audio cable. Sound goes through the car's AUX input, so AUX must be enabled. Cars with no AUX input need an FM transmitter (XTRONS CA/ITR/FM02 is compatible).
Does it fit a left-hand drive X5?
No. Left-hand drive CIC cars need QLB42X5CIL.
How can I tell my car has CIC?
CIC has a 4-pin LVDS port and a CD button on the iDrive controller. The Car Information Computer interface alone doesn't guarantee it.
What if my car has no AUX input?
You'll need an FM transmitter. XTRONS CA/ITR/FM02 is compatible.
Do I lose the CD player?
No. The original CD player stays where it is.
