A 9 inch car stereo for the Jeep Renegade (2015-2020) that runs Automotive Grade Linux rather than Android. It starts almost as soon as you turn the key and gives you wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, a QLED IPS screen and a built-in DSP.

Wireless Apple CarPlay
Your iPhone connects to the stereo without a cable, so it can stay in a pocket or a cup holder. Maps, calls, messages and music show on the 9 inch screen.
Voice control lets you ask for directions or make a call without taking your hands off the wheel.
Your iPhone connects on its own when you start the car, so there's no cable to plug in. It needs an iPhone with wireless CarPlay support; check yours in Settings > General > CarPlay. A cable still works when you'd rather charge on the way.
Android Auto, wired or wireless
Android phones get Android Auto, including the wireless version, so Google Maps, calls and your music apps appear on the dash.
Voice control handles navigation, calls and messages while you drive.
Maps, calls, messages and music from your Android phone appear on the car screen, with Google Assistant for voice control. It needs a phone with Google services, which most Android phones have. To connect without a cable, the phone must support wireless Android Auto too.
Linux that starts straight away
This unit runs Automotive Grade Linux. A warm boot takes 1 second or less and a cold boot 3 seconds or less, so the screen is ready by the time you've put your seatbelt on.
Standby current is 5mA or less, which keeps the drain on the battery low when the car is parked.
There's a rotary knob for volume, a Type-C port for fast charging, a Micro SD/TF card slot and a button that opens the EQ directly. The unit has no DVD drive.
9 inch QLED screen
The 9 inch QLED panel shows strong colours at a resolution of 1280×720, so maps and album art look sharp.
G+G touch glass gives a smooth, responsive feel when you tap or swipe.
IPS viewing angles
The screen is an IPS panel, so the picture holds its colour when viewed from the passenger seat as well as from the driver's seat.
Built-in DSP
The DSP lets you shape the sound to suit the car and your speakers. The EQ button on the front takes you straight to the settings.
The ST7786 radio chip handles RDS radio.
The sound processor lets you tune the sound to your car: an equaliser, a delay for each speaker so the sound centres on your seat, and crossovers that keep deep bass away from small speakers. Start from a preset and change one setting at a time.
4x45W amplifier
A 4x45W TDA7388 amplifier drives the car's speakers directly, so you don't need a separate amplifier for a standard speaker setup.
The built-in amplifier drives your car's speakers directly, which is all most cars need. If your car has a factory amplifier, as many premium sound systems do, it usually stays in use and may need an adapter, so check before ordering.
Screen mirroring for Android phones
Android smartphones can mirror their screen to the stereo wirelessly. Online video streaming is supported too, for Android phones.
Mirroring shows your phone's whole screen on the car screen, unlike CarPlay and Android Auto, which show apps designed for driving. It usually needs a companion app on the phone, and paid video streaming apps often block it.
Bluetooth 5.0
Bluetooth 5.0 connects your phone for hands-free calls and music streaming.
External microphone
An external microphone is included. Mounted near the driver, it picks up your voice more clearly than a microphone in the dash, which helps on calls and with voice control.
USB and SD
There are 2 USB ports and an SD slot for music and video files, plus the front Type-C port for fast charging a phone.
AHD reversing camera support
The stereo supports AHD cameras, and the reversing picture appears in real time when you select reverse. A camera cable is in the box. The camera itself is not included.
Connect a reversing camera and its picture appears on the screen when you select reverse. Automatic switching needs the reverse signal wired in. If your car already has a factory camera, check whether you need an adapter to keep it.
Steering wheel controls and vehicle information
The CANbus box decodes the car's data, so the steering wheel controls keep working and original vehicle functions are retained. Vehicle information is shown on the stereo's screen.
Your steering wheel buttons keep working with the new unit, either through a CAN bus decoder or by teaching the unit each button. Check which your car needs before ordering. A few buttons may do nothing if the unit has no matching function.
RCA input and output
RCA input and output let you connect a digital TV box or a rear-seat monitor.
RCA pre-outputs send a clean, low-level signal to an external amplifier or subwoofer. Count the channels you need (front, rear and sub) against the outputs in the specifications. You'll also need RCA leads and power wiring for the amplifier.

Will it fit my 2018 Jeep Renegade?
