A 12.3 inch Android 14 screen for the BMW X3 F25 and X4 F26 (2016-2018) with the NBT EVO system. It keeps the CD player, radio and iDrive, and adds wireless CarPlay, Android Auto and 4G on a 2K IPS touch screen.
The screen works with the original NBT EVO system, so the CD player, radio and iDrive all stay. Android, CarPlay and Android Auto are added on top.
After fitting, gesture control can't be activated. When you switch back to the original system, the touch screen doesn't work there, so you use the iDrive controller as before.
CarPlay connects your iPhone without a cable and shows maps, calls and music on the wide 12.3 inch screen.
Android Auto also connects wirelessly, so Google Maps and your music apps appear as soon as you're in the car.
A Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 with 4 x Kryo 265 Gold and 4 x Kryo 265 Silver cores, built on 6nm, runs at up to 2.4GHz. Dual channel 8GB DDR4 RAM and 128GB of solid state storage give room for plenty of apps and quick switching between them.
It runs Android 14.
The QHD 2K IPS panel runs at 2400 x 900 and is fully laminated, with rich, accurate colour. The G+G touch screen is quick to respond.
Built-in 4G LTE gives you music streaming and real-time navigation without tethering a phone, and you can share the connection with passengers. It supports 99% of carriers worldwide, but check your SIM works in this kind of device.
Wi-Fi on 2.4GHz and 5GHz connects to a hotspot or your home network for browsing, streaming and online games.
An external microphone (XTRONS MIC001, MIC002, MIC003 or ACMIC005) gives clearer voice quality for hands-free calls.
For digital radio, add an external DAB+ tuner such as the XTRONS USBDAB01, USBDAB02, USBDAB04, ACUSBDAB05T or ACUSBDAB06.
XTRONS reversing cameras, DVR dash cams, OBD2 scanners and TPMS kits all work with this unit. A TPMS shows tyre pressure on the screen in real time, and an OBD2 scanner reads trouble codes from the car.
