A 12.3 inch Android 14 screen for right-hand drive Mercedes-Benz E-Class 2-door coupes (C207) and convertibles (A207) from 2015-2016 with the NTG5.0/5.1/5.2 system. It sits alongside the original COMAND system, adding wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, built-in 4G and a 2K display while the factory functions stay in place.
This screen is built for right-hand drive E-Class 2-door coupes (C207) and 2-door convertibles (A207) from 2015-2016 that have the COMAND APS NTG5.0/5.1/5.2 system. You can tell that system by its 4-pin LVDS port or the New Telematic Generation 5.0/5.1/5.2 menus.
The original COMAND system stays available, and you switch between it and Android when you need it. Factory camera support and parking sensor integration are kept, so you don't lose anything the car already had.
If your car has the NTG 4.0 or NTG 4.5/4.7 system, or it's a four or five-door W212 / S212, this isn't the right unit. Check your system version before ordering.
Your iPhone connects to the screen without a cable once it's paired, so maps, calls, messages and music show up on the 12.3 inch display. It suits short trips where plugging in every time gets tedious.
Siri and your usual CarPlay apps work as they do on the phone, just on a much larger screen.
Your iPhone connects on its own when you start the car, so there's no cable to plug in. It needs an iPhone with wireless CarPlay support; check yours in Settings > General > CarPlay. A cable still works when you'd rather charge on the way.
Android phones get full Android Auto, including a wireless connection. Google Maps or Waze, your music apps and calls appear on the screen and can be used with the touch screen.
Google Assistant can be used for directions and messages, which keeps your hands on the wheel.
Maps, calls, messages and music from your Android phone appear on the car screen, with Google Assistant for voice control. It needs a phone with Google services, which most Android phones have. To connect without a cable, the phone must support wireless Android Auto too.
The fully laminated 12.3 inch IPS screen runs at 2400×900. Nano-texture glass with an anti-reflective coating cuts glare when the sun is low or coming through the side window.
The wide format gives a long, readable map view, and 2K video playback looks sharp when you're parked up.
Put a SIM card in and the unit has its own 4G LTE connection. Live traffic, streaming and app updates keep working without tethering to your phone.
A 4G antenna comes in the box to help with reception.
A SIM card in the head unit gives it its own internet connection for maps, traffic and streaming, so it doesn't need your phone's hotspot. You supply the SIM and the data plan; a data-only SIM is usually the cheapest way to do it.
Dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz/5GHz) lets the unit join a phone hotspot or your home network when the car's on the drive. That's handy for downloading apps, maps and updates.
Bluetooth 5.1 handles hands-free calls and streams music from your phone. A mini speaker is included in the box.
The original steering wheel buttons keep working through the CANbus connection, so volume and track skip stay where your thumbs expect them.
Your steering wheel buttons keep working with the new unit, either through a CAN bus decoder or by teaching the unit each button. Check which your car needs before ordering. A few buttons may do nothing if the unit has no matching function.
Screen mirroring shows your phone's display on the 12.3 inch screen, which is useful for apps that don't run through CarPlay or Android Auto.
Mirroring shows your phone's whole screen on the car screen, unlike CarPlay and Android Auto, which show apps designed for driving. It usually needs a companion app on the phone, and paid video streaming apps often block it.
The wide screen can show navigation and another app side by side, so you can keep the map in view while you choose music.
DAB radio is supported through an external DAB adapter. It isn't built in, so you'll need to add a tuner if you want digital radio stations.
Digital radio gives clearer sound and more stations than FM where there's DAB coverage. It needs a DAB aerial: a stick-on windscreen aerial is the usual choice, or a splitter if your car already has a combined FM and DAB aerial.
The unit supports a DVR dash cam, so recordings can be viewed on the main screen. The dash cam is a separate purchase.
Recordings from a dash cam show on the car screen, live or played back. It needs a USB dash cam made for Android head units; an ordinary dash cam with its own screen won't connect this way. Mount the camera behind the mirror, clear of your view.

The screen connects with the supplied LVDS cable and ISO wiring harness and keeps the original COMAND system. Sound plays through the car's AUX input, so AUX must be enabled. If your car has an AMI port, connect the supplied AMI cable to the "audio Out" port on the ISO cable.
