The XTRONS QGB24UMB12E90L adds a 12.3 inch 2K Android 14 screen to left-hand drive BMW 3 Series E90, E91, E92 and E93 models (2008-2012) that came without an original display. It brings wireless CarPlay, wireless Android Auto and 4G, and a controller comes in the box.

Wireless Apple CarPlay
CarPlay connects to your iPhone without a cable, so maps, messages and music appear on the 12.3 inch screen while the phone stays in your pocket.
For a 3 Series that never had a screen, it's a big change: proper navigation and on-screen music control at last.
Your iPhone connects on its own when you start the car, so there's no cable to plug in. It needs an iPhone with wireless CarPlay support; check yours in Settings > General > CarPlay. A cable still works when you'd rather charge on the way.
Wireless Android Auto
Android Auto also connects wirelessly, with Google Maps, calls and music on the screen and controlled by touch or voice.
Maps, calls, messages and music from your Android phone appear on the car screen, with Google Assistant for voice control. It needs a phone with Google services, which most Android phones have. To connect without a cable, the phone must support wireless Android Auto too.
12.3 inch QHD 2K IPS display
The QHD 2K (2400 x 900) IPS panel gives rich, accurate colour and a responsive G+G touch screen. IPS keeps the picture clear for the passenger as well as the driver.
Works with the original stereo
The unit is made for BMWs with the original OS and keeps your CD player and radio working, adding the Android screen alongside them. A controller comes in the box as well, so you're not limited to the touchscreen.
Snapdragon 680 and Android 14
A Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 with 4 x Kryo 265 Gold and 4 x Kryo 265 Silver cores, built on 6nm and running at up to 2.4GHz, powers Android 14. Dual channel 8GB DDR4 RAM and 128GB of storage leave room for plenty of apps.
Integrated 4G LTE
4G LTE is built in and a 4G antenna is included. With a SIM card the unit streams music, runs real-time navigation and can share its connection with passengers.
A SIM card in the head unit gives it its own internet connection for maps, traffic and streaming, so it doesn't need your phone's hotspot. You supply the SIM and the data plan; a data-only SIM is usually the cheapest way to do it.
Dual-band Wi-Fi
Dual-band Wi-Fi supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, for downloads and updates from a hotspot or your home network.
DAB with a tuner
DAB+ radio is supported with an external tuner, such as the XTRONS USBDAB01, USBDAB02, USBDAB04, ACUSBDAB05T or ACUSBDAB06, sold separately.
Digital radio gives clearer sound and more stations than FM where there's DAB coverage. It needs a DAB aerial: a stick-on windscreen aerial is the usual choice, or a splitter if your car already has a combined FM and DAB aerial.
External microphone
Optional add-ons
XTRONS accessories add a reversing camera, a DVR to record your journeys, an OBD2 scanner for live data and trouble codes, or a TPMS to show tyre pressures on the screen. Each is sold separately.
USB and RCA
A USB cable and an RCA cable are included, for media from a USB stick and for connecting audio equipment.

Fitting the screen may mean cutting a permanent hole in the dashboard. If there's a storage box on top of the dash, removing it gives the space instead and no cutting is needed. A template sticker and cutter knife are included to mark and cut the hole accurately, along with a fix mount, plastic bracket, screws and an ISO wiring harness.
Is this for right-hand drive UK cars?
No, this version is for left-hand drive cars. For a right-hand drive car with no original display, choose the XTRONS QGB24UMB12E90R.
My 3 Series already has a screen. Which unit do I need?
For a car with the CCC system, choose the XTRONS QGB24CCB12E92. For CIC, choose the QGB24CIB12E92.
Will I have to cut the dashboard?
Possibly. Fitting may need a permanent hole in the dashboard, unless there's a storage box on top that can be removed instead. A template sticker is included to position the hole accurately.
