The XTRONS QLBH44X3NB is a 14.9 inch Android 14 screen for the BMW X3 F25 and X4 F26 (2014-2016) with the NBT system. It replaces the factory display with a wide, fully laminated 2560×720 screen and adds wireless CarPlay, Android Auto and 4G, while the original CD player stays.
The 14.9 inch 2560×720 IPS screen is fully laminated and slim, with a custom bezel and a 2.5D edge. It gives the X3 or X4 a wide, modern display in place of the factory one.
There's room for a map and music on screen at once, and IPS keeps the picture clear for the passenger.
CarPlay connects to your iPhone without a cable, so maps, messages and music appear on the wide screen while the phone stays in your pocket.
Your iPhone connects on its own when you start the car, so there's no cable to plug in. It needs an iPhone with wireless CarPlay support; check yours in Settings > General > CarPlay. A cable still works when you'd rather charge on the way.
Android Auto connects wirelessly too, with navigation, calls and music controlled by touch or voice.
Maps, calls, messages and music from your Android phone appear on the car screen, with Google Assistant for voice control. It needs a phone with Google services, which most Android phones have. To connect without a cable, the phone must support wireless Android Auto too.
A flagship 12nm octa-core chip (2xCortex-A75 + 6xCortex-A55) runs Android 14 with 8GB DDR4 RAM and 128GB of storage. It plays 2K video and supports an AHD camera.
The unit works alongside the car's original system, and the CD player doesn't need removing.
Insert a SIM card and the built-in 4G module gives the unit its own internet connection. A 4G antenna and SIM card slot are included.
A SIM card in the head unit gives it its own internet connection for maps, traffic and streaming, so it doesn't need your phone's hotspot. You supply the SIM and the data plan; a data-only SIM is usually the cheapest way to do it.
Wi-Fi connects the unit to a hotspot or your home network for downloads and updates.
The built-in DSP lets you adjust the sound from the unit's settings to suit the car's speakers.
The sound processor lets you tune the sound to your car: an equaliser, a delay for each speaker so the sound centres on your seat, and crossovers that keep deep bass away from small speakers. Start from a preset and change one setting at a time.
DAB+ radio is supported with an external tuner, such as the XTRONS USBDAB01, USBDAB02, USBDAB04, ACUSBDAB05T or ACUSBDAB06, sold separately.
Digital radio gives clearer sound and more stations than FM where there's DAB coverage. It needs a DAB aerial: a stick-on windscreen aerial is the usual choice, or a splitter if your car already has a combined FM and DAB aerial.
XTRONS accessories add a reversing camera, a DVR to record your journeys, an OBD scanner to read trouble codes, or a TPMS to show tyre pressures on the screen. Each is sold separately.
Screen mirroring shows your phone's display on the head unit, useful for apps outside CarPlay and Android Auto while parked.
Mirroring shows your phone's whole screen on the car screen, unlike CarPlay and Android Auto, which show apps designed for driving. It usually needs a companion app on the phone, and paid video streaming apps often block it.
A mini microphone comes in the box. Placed near the driver, it picks up your voice clearly for calls and voice commands.
A USB cable is included for media from a USB stick or a wired phone connection.

The screen replaces the factory display in cars with the NBT system, and the CD player stays in place. Sound plays through the car's AUX input, which must be enabled. Without an AUX input you'll need an adapter such as the XTRONS CA/ITR/FM02 (not included).
NBT has a 6-pin LVDS port, a "MEDIA" button or touch pad on the iDrive controller and a BMW ConnectedDrive interface. For an accurate answer, check your VIN or ask your dealer.
For CIC, choose the XTRONS QLBH44X3CI. For EVO, choose the QLBH44X3EV.
You'll need an adapter; the XTRONS CA/ITR/FM02 is compatible and sold separately.
