A 12.3 inch Android 14 screen for the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class C218 / W218 with the NTG 4.5/4.7 system. It works alongside the original COMAND system, adding wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, built-in 4G and a 2K display.
This screen is for the CLS-Class C218 / W218 with the COMAND APS NTG4.5/4.7 system. That system has a 4-pin LVDS port or the New Telematic Generation 4.5/4.7 menus.
The original COMAND system stays, and you can switch between it and Android. Factory camera support and parking sensors are kept too.
Cars with NTG4.0 need the XTRONS QBMH2440M12CLS, and cars with NTG5.0, NTG5.1 or NTG5.2 need the QBMH2450M12CLS.
Your iPhone connects without a cable, so maps, calls and music appear on the 12.3 inch screen as soon as you set off. Siri works as it does on the phone.
Your iPhone connects on its own when you start the car, so there's no cable to plug in. It needs an iPhone with wireless CarPlay support; check yours in Settings > General > CarPlay. A cable still works when you'd rather charge on the way.
Android phones get full Android Auto with a wireless connection. Navigation, music and messages run on the big screen, and Google Assistant handles voice commands.
Maps, calls, messages and music from your Android phone appear on the car screen, with Google Assistant for voice control. It needs a phone with Google services, which most Android phones have. To connect without a cable, the phone must support wireless Android Auto too.
The fully laminated IPS screen runs at 2400×900. Nano-texture glass with an anti-reflective coating cuts glare when sunlight hits the dash.
The wide shape gives plenty of room for a map, and 2K video looks sharp when you're stopped.
Fit a SIM card and the unit has its own 4G LTE connection for streaming, live traffic and app updates. A 4G antenna is included.
A SIM card in the head unit gives it its own internet connection for maps, traffic and streaming, so it doesn't need your phone's hotspot. You supply the SIM and the data plan; a data-only SIM is usually the cheapest way to do it.
Dual-band WiFi (2.4GHz/5GHz) connects to a hotspot or your home network for downloads and updates.
Bluetooth 5.1 streams music and handles hands-free calls. A mini speaker is included.
The original steering wheel controls (volume, track skip and COMAND navigation) keep working through the CANbus connection.
Your steering wheel buttons keep working with the new unit, either through a CAN bus decoder or by teaching the unit each button. Check which your car needs before ordering. A few buttons may do nothing if the unit has no matching function.
Show navigation next to another app on the wide screen, so the map stays in view while you change the music.
Mirror your phone's screen onto the 12.3 inch display for apps that don't run in CarPlay or Android Auto.
Mirroring shows your phone's whole screen on the car screen, unlike CarPlay and Android Auto, which show apps designed for driving. It usually needs a companion app on the phone, and paid video streaming apps often block it.
DAB radio is supported with an external DAB adapter, sold separately.
Digital radio gives clearer sound and more stations than FM where there's DAB coverage. It needs a DAB aerial: a stick-on windscreen aerial is the usual choice, or a splitter if your car already has a combined FM and DAB aerial.
A DVR dash cam can be connected and viewed on the screen. The dash cam is sold separately.
Recordings from a dash cam show on the car screen, live or played back. It needs a USB dash cam made for Android head units; an ordinary dash cam with its own screen won't connect this way. Mount the camera behind the mirror, clear of your view.

The screen connects with the supplied LVDS cable and ISO wiring harness, and the fix mount and screws hold it in place. Sound plays through the car's AUX input, so AUX needs to be enabled. If your car has an AMI port, connect the supplied AMI cable to the "audio out" port on the ISO cable.
