A 14.9 inch fully laminated Android 14 screen for the BMW X1 F48 and X2 F39 with the original EVO system. It works alongside the car's own system, with no need to remove the CD player, and adds wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, built-in 4G and a DSP.
The screen is for the X1 F48 (2018-Now) and X2 F39 (2018-2020) with the original EVO system. It runs Android alongside the BMW system, and you don't need to remove the original CD player.
To confirm EVO, look for a 6-pin LVDS port and "NBTevo_xxxx" and "Automatic map update" in the version info. The look of the menus alone doesn't prove which system you have. NBT cars need QLBH44X1NB3, CIC cars need QLBH44X1CI3, and cars with no original display need QLBH44X1UN3.
A 12nm octa-core chip (2xCortex-A75 + 6xCortex-A55) with 8GB DDR4 RAM and 128GB solid state storage keeps Android 14 quick. You can also connect an AHD camera.
The wide 14.9 inch IPS panel runs at 2560×720 and plays 2K video. It's fully laminated with a slim custom bezel and 2.5D edge, so it looks like a factory screen from a newer model.
IPS keeps the picture clear from both front seats.
Your iPhone connects without a cable and the screen becomes a display and controller for it. Maps, music and calls come up on the dashboard, and voice commands keep your hands free.
Your iPhone connects on its own when you start the car, so there's no cable to plug in. It needs an iPhone with wireless CarPlay support; check yours in Settings > General > CarPlay. A cable still works when you'd rather charge on the way.
Android phones get the same wireless set-up, with Google Maps, music apps and messages on the big screen and voice control for most tasks.
Maps, calls, messages and music from your Android phone appear on the car screen, with Google Assistant for voice control. It needs a phone with Google services, which most Android phones have. To connect without a cable, the phone must support wireless Android Auto too.
Insert a SIM card and the unit has its own 4G connection for navigation, video and apps, wherever you are, without relying on your phone. The 4G antenna is supplied.
A SIM card in the head unit gives it its own internet connection for maps, traffic and streaming, so it doesn't need your phone's hotspot. You supply the SIM and the data plan; a data-only SIM is usually the cheapest way to do it.
Wi-Fi lets the unit connect to a phone hotspot or your home network for app downloads and updates.
The built-in DSP lets you adjust the sound to suit the X1 or X2's cabin, so music sounds balanced from the driver's seat.
The sound processor lets you tune the sound to your car: an equaliser, a delay for each speaker so the sound centres on your seat, and crossovers that keep deep bass away from small speakers. Start from a preset and change one setting at a time.
Mirror your phone's screen to the 14.9 inch display for apps that don't run in CarPlay or Android Auto.
Mirroring shows your phone's whole screen on the car screen, unlike CarPlay and Android Auto, which show apps designed for driving. It usually needs a companion app on the phone, and paid video streaming apps often block it.
A mini microphone comes with the unit. Mount it near the driver for clearer hands-free calls and voice commands.
Digital radio works with an external DAB receiver, which the unit supports. It isn't built in.
Digital radio gives clearer sound and more stations than FM where there's DAB coverage. It needs a DAB aerial: a stick-on windscreen aerial is the usual choice, or a splitter if your car already has a combined FM and DAB aerial.
A USB cable is supplied for connecting a phone or USB storage.

The screen replaces the factory display and connects with the supplied ISO wiring harness and audio cable. The original CD player stays where it is. Check your car has the EVO system before ordering, using the LVDS port and version info.
EVO has a 6-pin LVDS port, and the version info shows "NBTevo_xxxx" and "Automatic map update". The look of the menus alone doesn't guarantee EVO.
QLBH44X1NB3 for NBT, QLBH44X1CI3 for CIC, and QLBH44X1UN3 if the car has no original display.
No. The original CD player stays in place.
Yes, the unit supports an AHD camera.
