The XTRONS QAMS1440M12ECR is a 10.25 inch Android 14 screen made as a plug-and-play replacement for the factory display in the right-hand drive Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe C207 and Convertible A207 (2009-2012) with NTG 4.0. It keeps your CD player, radio and COMAND system, and adds wireless CarPlay, Android Auto and a built-in 4G module.
The screen is matched to the Mercedes dashboard and runs Android alongside the original system, so you don't have to remove the CD player, radio or COMAND. Swipe on the screen to move between Android and the factory system.
It only works with the COMAND APS NTG 4.0 system, which usually has a 10 pin LVDS port and the NTG 4.0 interface, and this version is for right-hand drive cars. Left-hand drive cars and cars with NTG 4.5, 4.7 or 5.x need a different XTRONS model.
CarPlay connects wirelessly, so your iPhone's maps, calls and music come up on the screen without plugging in. Siri voice commands let you ask for directions or a song while you drive.
Your iPhone connects on its own when you start the car, so there's no cable to plug in. It needs an iPhone with wireless CarPlay support; check yours in Settings > General > CarPlay. A cable still works when you'd rather charge on the way.
Android Auto works wirelessly or over a cable. Google Maps, calls and music apps run on the dashboard, with Google Assistant for voice control.
Maps, calls, messages and music from your Android phone appear on the car screen, with Google Assistant for voice control. It needs a phone with Google services, which most Android phones have. To connect without a cable, the phone must support wireless Android Auto too.
The independent 4G module gives the unit its own internet connection once you insert a SIM card (bought separately). Navigation, video and streaming then work without your phone, and you can share the connection as a hotspot.
A SIM card in the head unit gives it its own internet connection for maps, traffic and streaming, so it doesn't need your phone's hotspot. You supply the SIM and the data plan; a data-only SIM is usually the cheapest way to do it.
Wi-Fi lets the unit join a hotspot or your home network for app downloads and updates.
Screen mirroring puts your phone's display on the dashboard, useful for apps that don't run in CarPlay or Android Auto.
Mirroring shows your phone's whole screen on the car screen, unlike CarPlay and Android Auto, which show apps designed for driving. It usually needs a companion app on the phone, and paid video streaming apps often block it.
USB gives a wired connection for Android Auto and a way to play media from a USB stick.
A built-in DSP lets you adjust how the unit's audio sounds in the car.
The sound processor lets you tune the sound to your car: an equaliser, a delay for each speaker so the sound centres on your seat, and crossovers that keep deep bass away from small speakers. Start from a preset and change one setting at a time.
The unit has a microphone for hands-free calls and for Siri or Google Assistant voice commands.
Add an external DAB tuner to receive digital radio through the unit.
Digital radio gives clearer sound and more stations than FM where there's DAB coverage. It needs a DAB aerial: a stick-on windscreen aerial is the usual choice, or a splitter if your car already has a combined FM and DAB aerial.
The octa-core chip is built on a 12nm process and runs at up to 2.0GHz, with a Mali G52 GPU, 4GB DDR4 RAM and 64GB of storage. That's enough to run navigation and music together and keep your favourite apps installed.

This is a plug-and-play replacement for the factory display in right-hand drive C207 and A207 cars with COMAND APS NTG 4.0, so check your system before ordering. If your car has an AMI port, connect the AMI cable to the ISO cable's audio out port.
An NTG 4.0 system usually has a 10 pin LVDS port and the New Telematic Generation 4.0 interface.
For a right-hand drive A207 or C207, XTRONS QAMS1445M12ECR. For NTG 5.0, 5.1 or 5.2, it's QAMS1450M12ECR.
No. For a right-hand drive W212 or S212 with NTG 4.0, choose XTRONS QAMS1440M12ER.
Yes. The unit works alongside the original system, so the CD player, radio and COMAND stay.
