The XTRONS QWBX24NB12X3 is a 12.3 inch widescreen Android 14 head unit that replaces the factory display in the BMW X3 F25 and X4 F26 (2014-2016) with the NBT system. It adds wireless CarPlay, wireless Android Auto and 4G in an OEM-style screen.

Wireless Apple CarPlay
CarPlay connects to your iPhone without a cable. Maps, messages and music fill the wide screen, and the phone can stay in your pocket.
It reconnects each time you start the car.
Your iPhone connects on its own when you start the car, so there's no cable to plug in. It needs an iPhone with wireless CarPlay support; check yours in Settings > General > CarPlay. A cable still works when you'd rather charge on the way.
Wireless Android Auto
Android Auto is wireless too, putting Google Maps, calls and music apps on the screen for Android phone users.
Maps, calls, messages and music from your Android phone appear on the car screen, with Google Assistant for voice control. It needs a phone with Google services, which most Android phones have. To connect without a cable, the phone must support wireless Android Auto too.
12.3 inch laminated IPS screen
The fully laminated IPS touch screen takes the place of the factory display in an OEM style. Lamination cuts reflections, and IPS keeps the picture clear from the passenger seat.
It also plays 4K video, best watched while parked.
Qualcomm 685 and Android 14
A Qualcomm 685 octa-core processor runs Android 14 with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage, leaving room for apps, music and offline maps.
Built-in 4G
4G is built in and a 4G antenna is included. With a data SIM, online maps and streaming work without tethering your phone.
A SIM card in the head unit gives it its own internet connection for maps, traffic and streaming, so it doesn't need your phone's hotspot. You supply the SIM and the data plan; a data-only SIM is usually the cheapest way to do it.
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi connects the unit to a hotspot or your home network for app downloads and updates.
DAB with an adapter
DAB radio is supported with an external DAB adapter, which is sold separately.
Digital radio gives clearer sound and more stations than FM where there's DAB coverage. It needs a DAB aerial: a stick-on windscreen aerial is the usual choice, or a splitter if your car already has a combined FM and DAB aerial.
Screen mirroring
Screen mirroring shows your phone's display on the unit, handy for apps outside CarPlay and Android Auto while parked.
Mirroring shows your phone's whole screen on the car screen, unlike CarPlay and Android Auto, which show apps designed for driving. It usually needs a companion app on the phone, and paid video streaming apps often block it.
Microphone for calls
The unit supports a microphone for hands-free calls and voice commands.
USB
A USB cable is included for media from a USB stick or a wired phone connection.

- This unit ONLY works with the original BMW NBT system. A NBT system car radio usually comes with Media button, touch pad controller, a 6-pin LVDS port and a BMW NBT Interface.
- If your car comes with NO audio AUX input or the AUX port is not functioning, you will need to order an FM transmitter to aid the installation. (XTRONS CA/ITR/FM02 and CA/ITR/FM03 are compatible.)

This is a plug-and-play replacement for the factory display and only works with the original BMW NBT system. Sound plays through the car's AUX input, which must be enabled; without a working AUX input you'll need an FM transmitter such as the XTRONS CA/ITR/FM02 or CA/ITR/FM03. An ISO wiring harness and installation instructions are included.
How do I know if my X3 has NBT?
An NBT system usually has a Media button, a touch pad controller, a 6-pin LVDS port and a BMW NBT interface. A modified or updated interface can make it harder to identify.
My car has CIC or EVO. Which unit do I need?
For CIC, choose the XTRONS QWBX24CIB12X3. For EVO, choose the QWBX24EVB12X3.
What if my car has no AUX input?
The unit needs the AUX input for sound. Without a working one, add an FM transmitter; the XTRONS CA/ITR/FM02 and CA/ITR/FM03 are compatible.
