The XTRONS QWBX24UMB12X1 is a 12.3 inch widescreen Android 14 unit for the BMW X1 E84 (2009-2015) that came with no original display. It adds an OEM-style screen with wireless CarPlay, wireless Android Auto and 4G, and a controller comes in the box.

Wireless Apple CarPlay
CarPlay connects to your iPhone without a cable, so maps, messages and music appear on the wide screen. For an X1 that never had a display, it's a big upgrade.
The phone can stay in your pocket, and CarPlay reconnects each time you set off.
Your iPhone connects on its own when you start the car, so there's no cable to plug in. It needs an iPhone with wireless CarPlay support; check yours in Settings > General > CarPlay. A cable still works when you'd rather charge on the way.
Wireless Android Auto
Android Auto is wireless too, with Google Maps, calls and music apps on the screen and controlled by touch or voice.
Maps, calls, messages and music from your Android phone appear on the car screen, with Google Assistant for voice control. It needs a phone with Google services, which most Android phones have. To connect without a cable, the phone must support wireless Android Auto too.
12.3 inch laminated IPS screen
The fully laminated IPS touch screen cuts reflections and stays clear from the passenger seat. The included controller gives you another way to move around the menus.
The unit also plays 4K video, best enjoyed while parked.
Qualcomm 685 and Android 14
A Qualcomm 685 octa-core processor runs Android 14 with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage, so there's room for apps, music and offline maps.
Built-in 4G
4G is built in and a 4G antenna is included. With a data SIM, maps and streaming work without your phone.
A SIM card in the head unit gives it its own internet connection for maps, traffic and streaming, so it doesn't need your phone's hotspot. You supply the SIM and the data plan; a data-only SIM is usually the cheapest way to do it.
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi connects the unit to a hotspot or your home network for app downloads and updates.
DAB with an adapter
DAB radio is supported with an external DAB adapter, which is sold separately.
Digital radio gives clearer sound and more stations than FM where there's DAB coverage. It needs a DAB aerial: a stick-on windscreen aerial is the usual choice, or a splitter if your car already has a combined FM and DAB aerial.
Screen mirroring
Screen mirroring shows your phone's display on the unit, handy for apps outside CarPlay and Android Auto while parked.
Mirroring shows your phone's whole screen on the car screen, unlike CarPlay and Android Auto, which show apps designed for driving. It usually needs a companion app on the phone, and paid video streaming apps often block it.
Microphone for calls
The unit supports a microphone for hands-free calls and voice commands.
USB
A USB cable is included for media from a USB stick or a wired phone connection.

This unit is for X1 E84 cars that came with no original display. My X1 already has a screen. Which unit do I need?
For CIC, choose the XTRONS QWBX24CIB12X1. For NBT, the QWBX24NB12X1N, and for EVO, the QWBX24EVB12X1N.
What if my car has no AUX input?
The unit plays sound through the AUX input. Without a working one, add an FM transmitter; the XTRONS CA/ITR/FM02 and CA/ITR/FM03 are compatible.
