A 12.3 inch 2K Android touch screen for the BMW 5 Series E60, E61 and M5 (2005-2008) with the CCC system. It adds CarPlay, Android Auto, 4G and navigation while you keep the CD player, radio and iDrive.
The screen works with the factory CCC system instead of replacing it. You keep the CD player, radio and iDrive controller, and gain Android on a large touch screen.
It's for E60 and E61 5 Series and the M5 from 2005-2008 with the CCC system. A CCC radio usually has a 10-pin LVDS port, a CCC interface and both CD and DVD slots. Cars with the CIC system need the XTRONS QGBS25CIB12E60 instead.
CarPlay is built in and connects wirelessly, so your iPhone's maps, calls and music come up on the 12.3 inch screen without plugging in.
Your iPhone connects on its own when you start the car, so there's no cable to plug in. It needs an iPhone with wireless CarPlay support; check yours in Settings > General > CarPlay. A cable still works when you'd rather charge on the way.
Full-featured Android Auto puts Google Maps, music apps and messages on the screen, where they're far easier to use than on the phone.
Maps, calls, messages and music from your Android phone appear on the car screen, with Google Assistant for voice control. It needs a phone with Google services, which most Android phones have. To connect without a cable, the phone must support wireless Android Auto too.
The fully laminated QHD 2K (2400 x 900) IPS panel with a G+G touch screen gives accurate colour and sharp text. The wide format suits the BMW dashboard and gives a long map view.
With a SIM card fitted, the unit has its own 4G connection for music streaming and real-time navigation, and it can share internet with your passengers. A 4G antenna is included.
A SIM card in the head unit gives it its own internet connection for maps, traffic and streaming, so it doesn't need your phone's hotspot. You supply the SIM and the data plan; a data-only SIM is usually the cheapest way to do it.
Dual-band Wi-Fi supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, so you can connect to a hotspot or home network for browsing, streaming and app downloads.
A microphone cable is included, and an external microphone (XTRONS MIC001/MIC002/MIC003/ACMIC005) gives clearer voice quality for hands-free calls.
Digital radio needs an external DAB+ tuner, such as the XTRONS USBDAB01/USBDAB02/USBDAB04/ACUSBDAB05T/ACUSBDAB06.
Digital radio gives clearer sound and more stations than FM where there's DAB coverage. It needs a DAB aerial: a stick-on windscreen aerial is the usual choice, or a splitter if your car already has a combined FM and DAB aerial.
An optional reversing camera can be added (XTRONS CAM005/CAM018/CAM009S (AHD 720P)/ACCAM716S(AHD 1080P)/CAM1080(AHD 1080P)/ACCAM10802(AHD 1080P)) to show the view behind the car on the screen.
Connect a reversing camera and its picture appears on the screen when you select reverse. Automatic switching needs the reverse signal wired in. If your car already has a factory camera, check whether you need an adapter to keep it.
Add an external DVR to record your journeys. Compatible models are the XTRONS DVR025S(ADAS)/DVR027S(ADAS)/DVR028S/DVR030S(ADAS)/ACDVR2K01(ADAS).
Recordings from a dash cam show on the car screen, live or played back. It needs a USB dash cam made for Android head units; an ordinary dash cam with its own screen won't connect this way. Mount the camera behind the mirror, clear of your view.
With an OBD2 scanner (XTRONS OBD01S/OBD02/OBD03/OBD04) the screen can show real-time data and trouble codes from the car's computer.
Plug an OBD2 adapter into the car's diagnostic port and the head unit can show live engine data, such as coolant temperature, and read fault codes. It reads the standard engine codes, not everything a dealer's diagnostic equipment can reach.
Fit a TPMS kit (XTRONS TPMSO7/TPMS08) and the screen shows each tyre's pressure in real time.
The head unit shows each tyre's pressure and warns you when one drops. It needs a TPMS kit: a receiver and a sensor for each wheel. Cap sensors screw on in minutes, while internal sensors are fitted by a tyre shop.

The screen connects alongside the factory CCC system using the supplied ISO wiring harness and audio cable. Sound plays through the car's AUX input, so AUX must be enabled. If the car has no AUX input or it doesn't work, you'll need an FM transmitter such as the XTRONS CA/ITR/FM02. If you're unsure which system you have, check your VIN or ask your dealer.
Yes. The CD player, radio and iDrive system all stay in use.
No. This unit is for CCC cars only. For CIC, XTRONS make the QGBS25CIB12E60.
You'll need an FM transmitter to get sound through the car's speakers; the XTRONS CA/ITR/FM02 is compatible.
DAB needs an external DAB+ tuner, which is sold separately.
