BMW 5 Series E39 7 inch Android Head Unit with Wireless CarPlay, 4G and HDMI Output | IQ7439BL

This unit is a custom fit for the BMW E39 from 1995-2003 and the E39 M5 from 1999-2003, with a 285x120mm face panel. It doesn’t have a DVD drive. If the centre console has an air-conditioning cover, remove it and the unit fits properly.

Some cars need extra cables. If the radio antenna port is inside the console, add the XTRONS ISOFZ adapter; if it’s in the boot, the ISOFZ and FZMF extension cables. If the original radio has a 4.3" or 7" screen with a 12 pin plug, or the navigation drive is in the back of the car, you’ll need a 6m extension cable (EXL005 or EXL007).

CarPlay connects your iPhone wirelessly, so compatible apps such as maps and music appear on the 7 inch screen and voice commands work straight from the unit.

Full-featured Android Auto puts Google Maps, music and messages on the screen in a layout made for driving, with voice commands for calls and directions.

The 7 inch quantum dot screen runs at 1280×720 and shows bright, detailed colour, so maps and video look sharp.

IPS technology gives the screen wide viewing angles, so the passenger sees the same clear picture as the driver.

The DSP and DTS decoding from the Si47925 audio processor give fully digital, lossless audio output with better resistance to interference. You can adjust the sound to suit the E39 cabin.

An automotive-grade TDA7808 digital amplifier chip drives the speakers efficiently for clean sound.

Optical and RCA audio outputs let you add an external amplifier or processor. An RCA cable is in the box.

The HDMI output sends video to a screen for the back seats, so passengers can watch a film while the driver keeps the map on the main screen.

With a SIM card, the unit has its own 4G LTE connection for navigation apps, streaming and sharing the internet with passengers. In Europe it supports bands 1, 3, 7, 8, 20, 28, 38 and 40. A 4G antenna is supplied.

Wi-Fi connects the unit to a hotspot or your home network for updates and app downloads.

The unit has its own GPS system with a GPS antenna supplied, so navigation apps run on the head unit even without a phone.

An external DAB tuner is supported for digital radio and is sold separately.

Screen mirroring shows your phone's display on the head unit for apps that don't run in CarPlay or Android Auto. It's best used when parked.

Two USB cables are included for connecting phones and USB drives with music and video.

An external microphone can be connected for clearer hands-free calls and voice commands.

A camera cable is in the box for connecting a reversing camera.
