An extra long 6 metre Quadlock extension lead for BMW E38, E39 and E46 models with factory sat nav, where the stereo connections sit in the boot. It brings those connections to the dash so an aftermarket stereo can be fitted.

Reaching the connections in the boot
On BMWs with factory sat nav, the stereo connections are in the boot rather than behind the radio. That makes fitting an aftermarket head unit awkward, because the factory plugs are nowhere near the dash.
This 6 metre lead runs from the boot to the front and ends in a universal Quadlock, so any stereo with a standard Quadlock connection plugs in. With the correct adapter you can also fit a unit with an ISO connection.
Premium sound systems and other models
It works in the E38, E39 and E46 with either 17 or 40 pin connections. In cars with Harman Kardon or other premium sound systems, it can be used with 2 CT53-BM01 adapters for an easier connection, though a custom stereo may need some alteration.
For the E53, choose EXL007 instead.

Connect the lead to the stereo connections in the boot and run it forward under the trim to the dash. Plug a Quadlock stereo straight into the other end, or use the correct adapter for an ISO stereo.
Why do I need an extension cable?
On BMWs with factory sat nav the stereo connections are in the boot, so you need a long lead to reach the new stereo in the dash.
Does it work with Harman Kardon?
Yes, used with 2 CT53-BM01 adapters, though a custom stereo may need some alteration.
I have an E53. Is this the right cable?
No. For the E53, choose EXL007.
