For the E90 series 3 Series with CCC
This screen is made for the BMW 3 Series E90, E91, E92 and E93, and the M3, from 2004-2008 with the CCC system. For cars with the CIC system, the XTRONS QWBX24CIB12E92 is the one to choose.
If the car's interface has been modified or updated, it can be harder to tell which system you have, so check before ordering.
It runs Android 14 on a Qualcomm 685 octa-core processor with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, which leaves plenty of room for maps, music and apps.
Wireless Apple CarPlay
CarPlay connects your iPhone without a cable, so maps, music and calls show on the wide screen while the phone stays in your pocket.
Your iPhone connects on its own when you start the car, so there's no cable to plug in. It needs an iPhone with wireless CarPlay support; check yours in Settings > General > CarPlay. A cable still works when you'd rather charge on the way.
Wireless Android Auto
Android Auto also works wirelessly. Google Maps, your music apps and messages appear in a layout made for driving.
Maps, calls, messages and music from your Android phone appear on the car screen, with Google Assistant for voice control. It needs a phone with Google services, which most Android phones have. To connect without a cable, the phone must support wireless Android Auto too.
12.3 inch IPS touch screen
The 12.3 inch IPS touch screen is fully laminated, which cuts reflections and keeps the picture clear from both front seats. It plays 4K video, so films look sharp when you're parked up.
Built-in 4G
With a SIM card, built-in 4G gives the unit its own data connection for live maps and streaming. A 4G antenna is in the box.
A SIM card in the head unit gives it its own internet connection for maps, traffic and streaming, so it doesn't need your phone's hotspot. You supply the SIM and the data plan; a data-only SIM is usually the cheapest way to do it.
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi lets the unit join a hotspot or your home network for app downloads and updates.
DAB radio
The unit supports an external DAB tuner, sold separately, for digital radio.
Digital radio gives clearer sound and more stations than FM where there's DAB coverage. It needs a DAB aerial: a stick-on windscreen aerial is the usual choice, or a splitter if your car already has a combined FM and DAB aerial.
Screen mirroring
Screen mirroring puts your phone's display on the 12.3 inch screen, useful for apps that don't run in CarPlay or Android Auto. It's best used when parked or by a passenger.
Mirroring shows your phone's whole screen on the car screen, unlike CarPlay and Android Auto, which show apps designed for driving. It usually needs a companion app on the phone, and paid video streaming apps often block it.
External microphone
An external microphone can be connected for clearer hands-free calls and voice commands.

The unit is a plug-and-play replacement for the factory display, with an ISO wiring harness, fix mount and installation instructions in the box. Audio goes through the car's AUX input, so make sure AUX is enabled. If there's no AUX input or it doesn't work, you'll need an FM transmitter; the XTRONS CA/ITR/FM02 is compatible.
