Automotive Grade Linux gets the unit going quickly: a warm boot takes ≤1 second and a cold boot ≤3 seconds, so music and maps are ready by the time you've put your belt on.

Standby current is ≤5mA, which keeps the drain on the battery low while the car is parked.

IPS technology keeps colours true from the side, so the passenger sees the same clear picture as the driver.

The built-in DSP lets you shape the sound, including crossover and equaliser settings, to suit your speakers. A 4x45W amplifier drives the car's speakers directly.

RCA preamp outputs (2V) let you add an external amplifier or subwoofer later. The RCA input and output also connect a digital TV box or a rear-seat monitor.

Bluetooth 5.0 streams music and handles hands-free calls from your phone.

Microphone support lets you speak to callers and use voice control without picking up the phone.

You can mirror your phone's screen wirelessly. With an Android phone, that also lets you play online video from mainstream entertainment apps on the head unit.

Two USB ports and an SD card slot let you play music and video from your own storage.

The unit supports AHD and CVBS reverse cameras. Select reverse and the camera picture appears straight away, with a wide angle and clear night vision. A camera cable is in the box.

The CANbus decoding keeps your steering wheel controls, original vehicle functions and information display working.

The SI4745 radio chip with RDS gives FM reception with station names on screen.
