A 12.3 inch 2K Android 14 screen for the Mercedes-Benz ML-Class W166 and GL-Class X166 (2013-2015) with COMAND APS NTG 4.5 or NTG 4.7. You can switch between Android and the original COMAND system, and keep the steering wheel controls, factory camera and parking sensors.
This screen runs Android 14 alongside the car's COMAND APS NTG 4.5 or NTG 4.7 system, and you can switch between them. COMAND control, factory camera support and parking sensor integration all stay.
Through the CANbus connection it can show speed, fuel levels and safety alerts. Audio from the Android side plays through the car's AUX input, which needs to be enabled.
CarPlay connects your iPhone without a cable, bringing maps, calls and music to the 12.3 inch screen as you set off.
Your iPhone connects on its own when you start the car, so there's no cable to plug in. It needs an iPhone with wireless CarPlay support; check yours in Settings > General > CarPlay. A cable still works when you'd rather charge on the way.
Android Auto also works wirelessly, so Google Maps and your music apps appear on the widescreen without plugging in.
Maps, calls, messages and music from your Android phone appear on the car screen, with Google Assistant for voice control. It needs a phone with Google services, which most Android phones have. To connect without a cable, the phone must support wireless Android Auto too.
The 2400×900 IPS display has nano-texture glass and an anti-reflective coating to keep glare down in direct sunlight. 8-bit colour depth makes 2K video and maps look clean and sharp.
A Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 (Kryo 260, 8-core, 2.0GHz) with an Adreno 610 GPU runs Android 14. 8GB LPDDR4 RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 ROM leave room for apps, offline maps and media.
Google Assistant is available for voice commands. The unit is rated for -30°C to +80°C.
Split-screen lets you keep navigation on one side of the wide display while using another app on the other.
The global 4G LTE module gives the unit its own internet for streaming and live navigation. There's no SIM lock or regional restriction, but check with your network that your SIM works in this kind of device.
A SIM card in the head unit gives it its own internet connection for maps, traffic and streaming, so it doesn't need your phone's hotspot. You supply the SIM and the data plan; a data-only SIM is usually the cheapest way to do it.
Wi-Fi on 2.4GHz and 5GHz connects to a phone hotspot or home network for streaming and app updates.
Bluetooth 5.1 streams music from your phone and handles hands-free calls.
Screen mirroring puts your phone's display on the 12.3 inch screen, for apps that don't run in CarPlay or Android Auto.
Mirroring shows your phone's whole screen on the car screen, unlike CarPlay and Android Auto, which show apps designed for driving. It usually needs a companion app on the phone, and paid video streaming apps often block it.
Through CANbus integration, the original steering wheel controls keep working for volume, track skip and COMAND navigation, with no reprogramming.
Your steering wheel buttons keep working with the new unit, either through a CAN bus decoder or by teaching the unit each button. Check which your car needs before ordering. A few buttons may do nothing if the unit has no matching function.
The unit supports a DVR dash cam, bought separately, so you can record your journeys and view the footage on the big screen.
Recordings from a dash cam show on the car screen, live or played back. It needs a USB dash cam made for Android head units; an ordinary dash cam with its own screen won't connect this way. Mount the camera behind the mirror, clear of your view.
Digital radio works with an external DAB tuner connected to the unit.
Digital radio gives clearer sound and more stations than FM where there's DAB coverage. It needs a DAB aerial: a stick-on windscreen aerial is the usual choice, or a splitter if your car already has a combined FM and DAB aerial.

It's plug-and-play, with an ISO wiring harness, LVDS cable, fix mount, disassembling tool and installation instructions supplied.
