A 12.3 inch Android 13 screen made as a plug-and-play replacement for the factory display in the Mercedes-Benz ML-Class W166 and GL-Class X166 with NTG 4.5 or NTG 4.7. It adds wireless CarPlay, wireless Android Auto and 4G on a fully laminated 1920×720 IPS display.
This screen is for the ML-Class W166 (2012-2015) and GL-Class X166 (2013-2015) with the COMAND APS NTG 4.5 or NTG 4.7 system. You can recognise it by the 4-pin LVDS port or the New Telematic Generation 4.5/4.7 menus.
The 12.3″ unit is ultra-slim and fully laminated, with a bezel made to suit the Mercedes dashboard.
Your iPhone connects without a cable, so maps, calls and music appear on the 12.3 inch screen while the phone stays in your pocket.
Your iPhone connects on its own when you start the car, so there's no cable to plug in. It needs an iPhone with wireless CarPlay support; check yours in Settings > General > CarPlay. A cable still works when you'd rather charge on the way.
Android phones connect wirelessly to Android Auto, with navigation, music and messages on the wide display.
Maps, calls, messages and music from your Android phone appear on the car screen, with Google Assistant for voice control. It needs a phone with Google services, which most Android phones have. To connect without a cable, the phone must support wireless Android Auto too.
The Grade-A IPS screen runs at 1920×720 with a 2.5D G+G touch screen. Its 24:9 aspect ratio gives a wide view for maps, and colours stay clear from both front seats.
The panel uses QLED technology for strong, vivid colour on maps, album art and video.
Insert a SIM card and the unit has its own LTE Cat 7 connection for navigation and streaming. A 4G antenna and SIM card slot are included.
A SIM card in the head unit gives it its own internet connection for maps, traffic and streaming, so it doesn't need your phone's hotspot. You supply the SIM and the data plan; a data-only SIM is usually the cheapest way to do it.
Wi-Fi connects the screen to a hotspot or your home network for app downloads and updates.
The built-in DSP lets you adjust the sound to suit the cabin and your taste.
The sound processor lets you tune the sound to your car: an equaliser, a delay for each speaker so the sound centres on your seat, and crossovers that keep deep bass away from small speakers. Start from a preset and change one setting at a time.
An RCA audio output is there if you want to add an external amplifier.
RCA pre-outputs send a clean, low-level signal to an external amplifier or subwoofer. Count the channels you need (front, rear and sub) against the outputs in the specifications. You'll also need RCA leads and power wiring for the amplifier.
A mini microphone is included for clearer hands-free calls.
Mirror your phone onto the display for apps that don't run in CarPlay or Android Auto.
Mirroring shows your phone's whole screen on the car screen, unlike CarPlay and Android Auto, which show apps designed for driving. It usually needs a companion app on the phone, and paid video streaming apps often block it.
A USB cable is included for phones and memory sticks.

The screen replaces the factory display, held by the supplied fix mount and screws, and connects with the ISO wiring harness and audio cable. Sound plays through the car's AUX input, so AUX must be enabled. If your car has an AMI port, connect the AMI cable to the "audio in" port on the ISO cable.
The ML-Class W166 (2012-2015) and GL-Class X166 (2013-2015) with NTG 4.5 or NTG 4.7.
NTG 4.5/4.7 has a 4-pin LVDS port or the New Telematic Generation 4.5/4.7 menus.
