A 10.25 inch Android 14 screen that replaces the factory display in left-hand drive Mercedes-Benz E-Class W212 saloons and S212 estates (2009-2012) with the NTG4.0 system. The CD player, radio and COMAND system stay, and you add wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, built-in 4G and a DSP.
The screen is a plug-and-play replacement for the factory display in left-hand drive E-Class W212 saloons and S212 estates from 2009-2012 with COMAND APS NTG4.0. It isn't made for right-hand drive cars. You don't need to remove the CD player, radio or COMAND system; swipe the screen to switch between Android and the original menus.
NTG4.0 has a 10-pin LVDS port or the New Telematic Generation 4.0 menus. Left-hand drive W212 and S212 cars with NTG 4.5/4.7 need QAMS1445M12EL, and with NTG 5.0/5.1/5.2 need QAMS1450M12EL. Coupes and convertibles (A207/C207) need QAMS1445M12ECL or QAMS1450M12ECL.
An octa-core 12nm chip running at up to 2.0GHz with a Mali G52 GPU, 4GB DDR4 RAM and 64GB storage runs Android 14.
Your iPhone connects without a cable and puts maps, music, calls and messages on the 10.25 inch screen. Siri handles voice commands, so you don't need to touch the phone.
Your iPhone connects on its own when you start the car, so there's no cable to plug in. It needs an iPhone with wireless CarPlay support; check yours in Settings > General > CarPlay. A cable still works when you'd rather charge on the way.
Android Auto works wirelessly or over a USB cable. Google Maps, music apps and Google Assistant are on the big screen while the phone stays put.
Maps, calls, messages and music from your Android phone appear on the car screen, with Google Assistant for voice control. It needs a phone with Google services, which most Android phones have. To connect without a cable, the phone must support wireless Android Auto too.
Insert a SIM card (not included) and the unit has its own 4G internet for navigation, video and apps, separate from your phone. You can also share it as a hotspot with passengers.
A SIM card in the head unit gives it its own internet connection for maps, traffic and streaming, so it doesn't need your phone's hotspot. You supply the SIM and the data plan; a data-only SIM is usually the cheapest way to do it.
Connect to a hotspot or your home Wi-Fi to download apps and updates.
The DSP lets you shape the sound to the E-Class cabin, so music sounds balanced from the driver's seat.
The sound processor lets you tune the sound to your car: an equaliser, a delay for each speaker so the sound centres on your seat, and crossovers that keep deep bass away from small speakers. Start from a preset and change one setting at a time.
Mirror your phone's screen onto the display for apps that aren't available in CarPlay or Android Auto.
Mirroring shows your phone's whole screen on the car screen, unlike CarPlay and Android Auto, which show apps designed for driving. It usually needs a companion app on the phone, and paid video streaming apps often block it.
Microphone support means clear hands-free calls and voice commands to Siri or Google Assistant.
Use USB for wired Android Auto or to play music and video from a USB stick.
DAB radio works with an external DAB receiver, which the unit supports. It isn't built in.
Digital radio gives clearer sound and more stations than FM where there's DAB coverage. It needs a DAB aerial: a stick-on windscreen aerial is the usual choice, or a splitter if your car already has a combined FM and DAB aerial.

The unit replaces the factory display as a plug-and-play fit and works alongside the original COMAND system. Sound goes through the car's AUX input, so AUX must be enabled. If the car has an AMI port, the AMI cable connects to the ISO cable's audio in port.
