The XTRONS QLBH44FVCIGT3 is a 14.9 inch Android 14 screen for the BMW 5 Series F07 GT (2009-2012) with the original CIC system. It adds wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, built-in 4G and a DSP, and the original CD player stays.

For the F07 GT with CIC
This unit only works with the original BMW CIC system. A CIC radio usually has a 4-pin LVDS port, a CD button on the iDrive controller and a Car Information Computer interface, although that interface alone doesn't prove the car has CIC.
The Android screen works alongside the original system, so the CD player doesn't need to come out.
Wireless CarPlay
CarPlay connects your iPhone without a cable, with maps, music and messages on the 14.9 inch screen and voice control for hands-free use.
Your iPhone connects on its own when you start the car, so there's no cable to plug in. It needs an iPhone with wireless CarPlay support; check yours in Settings > General > CarPlay. A cable still works when you'd rather charge on the way.
Wireless Android Auto
Android Auto connects wirelessly too, putting Google Maps, music and calls on the display.
Maps, calls, messages and music from your Android phone appear on the car screen, with Google Assistant for voice control. It needs a phone with Google services, which most Android phones have. To connect without a cable, the phone must support wireless Android Auto too.
Android 14 performance
A 12nm octa-core chip with 8GB DDR4 RAM and 128GB ROM runs Android 14, with plenty of space for apps.
Built-in 4G
Insert a SIM card and the unit has its own 4G connection for navigation, video and online apps. A 4G antenna is in the box.
A SIM card in the head unit gives it its own internet connection for maps, traffic and streaming, so it doesn't need your phone's hotspot. You supply the SIM and the data plan; a data-only SIM is usually the cheapest way to do it.
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi connects the unit to a home network or hotspot.
DSP
The DSP lets you shape the sound for the GT's speakers and your seat.
The sound processor lets you tune the sound to your car: an equaliser, a delay for each speaker so the sound centres on your seat, and crossovers that keep deep bass away from small speakers. Start from a preset and change one setting at a time.
Screen mirroring
Screen mirroring shows your phone's display on the head unit for apps outside CarPlay and Android Auto.
Mirroring shows your phone's whole screen on the car screen, unlike CarPlay and Android Auto, which show apps designed for driving. It usually needs a companion app on the phone, and paid video streaming apps often block it.
USB
A USB cable is in the box for connecting a phone or USB device.
Microphone
A mini microphone is included for hands-free calls and voice commands.
DAB radio
DAB digital radio works when an external DAB tuner is connected.
Digital radio gives clearer sound and more stations than FM where there's DAB coverage. It needs a DAB aerial: a stick-on windscreen aerial is the usual choice, or a splitter if your car already has a combined FM and DAB aerial.

The unit is a plug-and-play replacement for the factory display, and the CD player stays. Sound goes through the car's AUX input, which must be switched on. If your car has no AUX input, you'll need an FM transmitter such as the XTRONS CA/ITR/FM02 or CA/ITR/FM03.
