This screen only works with the original CIC system in the BMW 3 Series E90, E91, E92, E93 and M3 from 2009-2012. CIC cars have a 4-pin LVDS port and a CD button on the iDrive controller; a Car Information Computer interface on its own doesn’t prove it’s CIC.

For CCC cars, which have separate CD and DVD slots and a 10-pin LVDS port, choose the XTRONS QLBX4492CC3.

The Android side works alongside the car’s original system, and the CD player doesn’t need removing.

The 14.9 inch Grade-A 2K IPS screen has an ultra-wide 32:9 aspect ratio, so you can keep the map and your music on view together without switching between them. The slim, fully-laminated design with a 2.5D edge looks at home in the BMW dashboard.

CarPlay connects your iPhone without a cable. Maps, music and calls spread across the wide screen while the phone stays in your pocket.

Android Auto connects wirelessly too, putting Google Maps and music apps on the screen with Google Assistant for voice commands.

Insert a SIM card and the built-in 4G module gives the unit its own data connection for navigation, video and games. A 4G antenna and SIM card slot are in the box.

Wi-Fi connects the screen to a hotspot or your home network for app downloads and updates.

A GPS antenna is supplied, so you can run a sat nav app on the screen itself as well as your phone's maps.

A built-in DSP lets you adjust how the sound is processed, so you can tune the audio to suit the cabin.

A mini microphone is included for hands-free calls and voice commands.

Screen mirroring puts your phone's display on the wide screen, useful for apps that don't run in CarPlay or Android Auto. It's best used when parked.

A USB cable is supplied for connecting a phone or a USB drive with your music and video.

An external DAB tuner is supported for digital radio and is sold separately.

A 12nm Octa-core chip (2xCortex-A75 + 6xCortex-A55) runs Android 14 with 8GB DDR4 RAM and 256GB solid state ROM, giving quick response and plenty of space for apps and media.
