The 14.9-inch QLED screen gives strong, rich colour across a wide display, so the map, music and other apps have plenty of room.

It has a slim, fully laminated design with a custom bezel and 2.5D edge, made to suit the 2 Series dashboard.

The IPS panel keeps the picture clear from the passenger seat, so your passenger can follow the map or choose the music.

Your iPhone connects wirelessly, with no cable needed. Maps, calls and music appear on the big screen, and voice commands let you control them without reaching for the phone.

Android phones connect to Android Auto wirelessly, putting navigation, calls and music on the dashboard in an easy layout.

Android sits alongside the car's NBT EVO system rather than replacing it, so you can still use the BMW functions you're used to and switch to Android for apps or phone mirroring.

One thing to know: after fitting, gesture control can't be activated, and the touch screen doesn't work when you switch to the original system. You use the iDrive controller there instead.

Insert a SIM card and the unit has its own 4G connection for navigation, video and streaming, without relying on your phone's hotspot. A 4G antenna is included.

Wi-Fi lets the unit join a hotspot or your home network to download apps and updates.

The built-in DSP gives you control over how the sound is shaped, so you can balance it to suit the cabin and speakers.

A GPS antenna comes in the box for navigation apps, and the wide screen keeps the map and your next turn easy to see.

Screen mirroring turns the head unit into a display for your phone, so you can use phone apps that aren't available in CarPlay or Android Auto.

A mini microphone is supplied for hands-free calls and voice commands. Mount it near the driver for the clearest pickup.

A USB cable is included for connecting a phone or a USB stick with your music and video.

An RCA audio output lets you connect an external amplifier if you want to build on the car's sound system.

A 12nm octa-core chip (2xCortex-A75 2.0GHz + 6xCortex-A55) runs Android 13 with 4GB of DDR4 RAM and 64GB of solid state storage. The unit also supports a 360 camera.
