A 14.9 inch ultra-wide Android 14 screen for the BMW 2 Series F45 and F46 MPV (2013-2016) with the NBT system. It works alongside the original system, keeps the CD player, and adds wireless CarPlay, Android Auto and 4G.
The 14.9 inch Grade-A 2K IPS screen has a 32:9 aspect ratio, wide enough to show a map and another app side by side without switching back and forth.
It's slim and fully laminated, with a custom bezel and 2.5D edge that gives it the look of a newer BMW screen.
The screen blends Android with the 2 Series' original NBT system, and you don't need to remove the CD player.
CarPlay connects without a cable, so your iPhone's maps, calls and music appear on the wide screen while the phone stays in your pocket.
Your iPhone connects on its own when you start the car, so there's no cable to plug in. It needs an iPhone with wireless CarPlay support; check yours in Settings > General > CarPlay. A cable still works when you'd rather charge on the way.
Android Auto connects wirelessly too, putting Google Maps and your music apps on the dash.
Maps, calls, messages and music from your Android phone appear on the car screen, with Google Assistant for voice control. It needs a phone with Google services, which most Android phones have. To connect without a cable, the phone must support wireless Android Auto too.
A flagship 12nm octa-core chip (2xCortex-A75 + 6xCortex-A55) with 8GB DDR4 RAM and 256GB of solid state storage runs Android 14 with room for plenty of apps and offline maps.
Insert a SIM card in the supplied slot and the unit has its own 4G connection for navigation, video and games. It supports 99% of carriers worldwide, but check your SIM works in this kind of device.
A SIM card in the head unit gives it its own internet connection for maps, traffic and streaming, so it doesn't need your phone's hotspot. You supply the SIM and the data plan; a data-only SIM is usually the cheapest way to do it.
Wi-Fi connects the screen to a phone hotspot or your home network for updates and streaming.
The built-in DSP lets you adjust the sound settings to suit the car and what you listen to.
The sound processor lets you tune the sound to your car: an equaliser, a delay for each speaker so the sound centres on your seat, and crossovers that keep deep bass away from small speakers. Start from a preset and change one setting at a time.
Screen mirroring shows your phone's display on the 14.9 inch screen, for apps that don't run in CarPlay or Android Auto.
Mirroring shows your phone's whole screen on the car screen, unlike CarPlay and Android Auto, which show apps designed for driving. It usually needs a companion app on the phone, and paid video streaming apps often block it.
A USB cable comes in the box for connecting a phone or USB drive.
A mini microphone is included. Fitted near the driver, it picks up your voice clearly for calls and voice commands.
Digital radio is supported with an external DAB tuner connected to the unit.
Digital radio gives clearer sound and more stations than FM where there's DAB coverage. It needs a DAB aerial: a stick-on windscreen aerial is the usual choice, or a splitter if your car already has a combined FM and DAB aerial.

It's a plug-and-play replacement for the factory display, connected with the supplied ISO wiring harness and audio cable. Check your car has NBT first: it has a 6-pin LVDS port and a MEDIA button or touch pad on the iDrive controller. If your version info shows NBTevo_xxxx, you have EVO and need QLBX44EVTW3.
NBT has a 6-pin LVDS port and a MEDIA button or touch pad on the iDrive controller. EVO also has a 6-pin LVDS port, but the version info shows NBTevo_xxxx and Automatic map update.
Not necessarily. Check the LVDS port and iDrive controller as well.
No. The original CD player doesn't need to be removed.
Yes, both CarPlay and Android Auto connect wirelessly.
