CarPlay connects without a cable, so maps, calls and messages appear on the 10.1 inch screen while your iPhone stays in your pocket. Voice control handles calls, messages and navigation hands-free.

If you prefer, plug in by USB for a wired connection.

Android Auto is supported wirelessly or by USB. Maps, music and calls are on the big screen and controlled by touch or voice.

Rather than Android, the DL10H runs an automotive-grade Linux system. The practical benefit is speed: it's ready in under 1 second from a warm boot and under 3 seconds from cold, so CarPlay or the radio is there almost as soon as you turn the key.

Standby current is ≤5mA, which keeps the drain on the battery low when the car is parked.

The screen sits on a floating panel in front of the dashboard. It has 50mm of vertical travel, tilts and swivels up to 40°, and has 3-way position adjustment.

That lets you place the screen where it's easy to see and reach, whatever the layout of your dashboard.

The 10.1 inch QLED display runs at 1280×720 with G+G touch glass, so maps and menus look sharp and the screen responds well to touch.

As an IPS panel, the screen stays clear from the passenger seat as well as the driver's. That helps when the screen is angled towards the driver.

The built-in DSP gives you fine control over the sound settings, so you can tune the audio to suit your car's speakers and cabin.

A 4x45W amplifier is built in and drives the car's speakers directly. For most cars that's plenty without adding an external amp.

RCA input and output let you add an external amplifier later, and an RCA cable comes in the box.

The stereo works with AHD and CVBS cameras. When you shift into reverse, the camera picture appears on the screen straight away, which makes tight parking spaces easier. A camera cable is included.

Android phones can mirror their screen wirelessly, which lets you stream online videos from mainstream apps. Watching video while driving may be restricted by law, so keep it for when you're parked.

Navigation runs through CarPlay or Android Auto, with the route on the 10.1 inch screen. Voice control lets you set a destination without taking your hands off the wheel.

Bluetooth 5.0 gives a stable connection for hands-free calls and music from your phone.

There's a connection for an external microphone. Mounted near the driver, a separate mic picks up your voice better on calls and voice commands.

The unit has 2 USB ports and an SD slot, and 2 USB cables are included. Use them for wired CarPlay or Android Auto, or to play music from a stick or card.

Steering wheel control is supported, so you can keep using the buttons on your wheel. Some cars need an extra adapter, which isn't included.

An SI4745 radio chip with RDS gives FM and AM reception. Note that this unit does not play discs.
