This unit only works on the X1 E84 that left the factory with no original display. It adds a large screen without removing the original CD player.

If your X1 has NBT, choose QLBX44X1NB3; with EVO, QLBX44X1EV3; with CIC, QLBX44X1CI3.

The 14.9″ Grade-A 2K IPS screen has a 32:9 shape, wide enough to show a map and another app without switching tabs. Colours are strong and it reads well from either seat.

It's slim and fully laminated, with a custom bezel and 2.5D edge that give it a built-in look.

CarPlay connects without a cable, so your iPhone can stay in your pocket. Maps, calls and music sit on the wide screen and Siri handles voice requests.

Android phones connect wirelessly, with Google Maps, music and calls on the screen and Google Assistant for voice control.

Insert a SIM card and the built-in 4G module gives the unit its own connection for navigation, video and streaming. A 4G antenna and SIM card slot come in the box.

Wi-Fi lets the unit join a phone hotspot or home network for downloads and updates.

A DSP lets you adjust the sound to suit the car's speakers and your taste.

A GPS antenna is supplied, so navigation apps run on the unit itself, which is a real gain on an X1 that had no screen before.

A USB cable is supplied for connecting a phone or playing files from a USB stick.

A mini microphone comes in the box for hands-free calls and voice commands. Mount it near the driver for the clearest sound.

Digital radio works with an external DAB tuner, sold separately.

Screen mirroring shows your phone's display on the 14.9″ screen, handy for apps outside CarPlay and Android Auto when parked.
