XTRONS QDB10X1UN is a 10.25″ Android screen for the BMW X1 E84 (2009-2015) that came with no original display. It adds wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation and 4G while the CD player, radio and iDrive stay in place.

A screen for an X1 that never had one
This unit is for X1 E84 cars that left the factory with no display. It matches the dashboard and adds a touch screen, without removing the CD player, radio or iDrive. You swipe the screen to move between Android and the car's own functions.
Wireless Apple CarPlay
CarPlay connects wirelessly, so your iPhone can stay in your pocket. Maps, calls and music show on the 10.25” screen, and Siri handles voice requests.
Your iPhone connects on its own when you start the car, so there's no cable to plug in. It needs an iPhone with wireless CarPlay support; check yours in Settings > General > CarPlay. A cable still works when you'd rather charge on the way.
Android Auto, wireless or wired
Android Auto works wirelessly or by cable, with Google Maps, music and calls on the screen and Google Assistant for voice control.
Maps, calls, messages and music from your Android phone appear on the car screen, with Google Assistant for voice control. It needs a phone with Google services, which most Android phones have. To connect without a cable, the phone must support wireless Android Auto too.
10.25” IPS screen
The 10.25” display runs at 1920×720 with Grade-A G+G touch, so it's sharp and responsive. The IPS panel keeps colours consistent from every seat.
Built-in 4G LTE
The 4G LTE module supports European and Asian 4G networks. With a SIM fitted, the unit stays online for navigation and music streaming, and a 4G antenna is included.
A SIM card in the head unit gives it its own internet connection for maps, traffic and streaming, so it doesn't need your phone's hotspot. You supply the SIM and the data plan; a data-only SIM is usually the cheapest way to do it.
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi lets the unit join a phone hotspot or home network for downloads and updates.
USB
A USB cable is supplied for wired Android Auto and for playing files from a USB stick.
Microphone for calls
The unit supports a microphone for hands-free calls and voice commands.
DAB+ with an external tuner
Digital radio works with an external DAB tuner, sold separately.
Digital radio gives clearer sound and more stations than FM where there's DAB coverage. It needs a DAB aerial: a stick-on windscreen aerial is the usual choice, or a splitter if your car already has a combined FM and DAB aerial.
Screen mirroring
Mirror your phone's display to the car screen to share photos or use an app outside CarPlay and Android Auto, ideally when parked.
Mirroring shows your phone's whole screen on the car screen, unlike CarPlay and Android Auto, which show apps designed for driving. It usually needs a companion app on the phone, and paid video streaming apps often block it.
