The screen works with the original NBT system, so the iDrive, amplifier, CD player, radio and original Bluetooth all stay. The backup camera still displays and the steering wheel controls are supported.

The XTRONS UI switches between day and night modes automatically with the car's lighting, or you can set it by hand. Factory-style themes are available if you'd like it to look closer to the original BMW screen.

CarPlay connects wirelessly, so your iPhone's maps, calls and music appear on the screen without plugging in.

Android Auto works wirelessly or with a cable, putting navigation, music and messages on the 10.25 inch display.

The fully laminated IPS screen runs at 1920 x 720 with a G+G touchscreen. It has wide viewing angles in every direction and less light refraction, so it stays clear from both front seats.

Positioning uses GPS, GLONASS and BeiDou for an accurate fix and real-time navigation. A GPS antenna is supplied.

The unit connects to 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi networks for steady streaming and navigation through a phone hotspot.

Bluetooth 5.0 gives clear hands-free calls and music streaming.

Front and rear AHD cameras up to 1080P are supported, with a real-time reversing image, a wide angle and clear night vision.

Steering wheel control is supported, so volume and track buttons keep working.

Show two windows side by side, for example the map alongside your music, without switching back and forth.

Passengers can share videos and games from their phone to the screen with wireless mirroring.

A USB cable is included for phones and memory sticks.

An external microphone can be used for clearer hands-free calls.

DAB radio is supported with an external tuner, sold separately.
