XTRONS QWBX8460CI is an 8.8 inch widescreen Android 14 head unit that replaces the factory display in the BMW 3 Series, M3, 5 Series and M5 with the CIC system, 2009-2012. It's plug and play and adds wireless CarPlay, wireless Android Auto and built-in 4G.

Wireless Apple CarPlay
CarPlay connects to your iPhone without a cable, so it's ready when you set off. Maps, music, calls and messages show on the 8.8 inch screen, and Siri handles voice requests.
Wireless Android Auto
Android phones connect wirelessly to Android Auto, with Google Maps, music apps and Google Assistant on the head unit.
8.8 inch IPS screen
The 8.8 inch IPS panel fills the space of the original BMW display and is fully laminated, so there's no air gap between the glass and the screen. The picture looks clearer and reflections are reduced.
It plays 4K video files for passengers while you're parked.
Built-in 4G
Fit a SIM card and the head unit has its own data for live traffic, streaming and updates. A 4G antenna is in the box.
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi connects the unit to a phone hotspot or home network for downloads and updates.
GPS navigation
A GPS antenna is supplied, so navigation apps can follow your position on the screen.
Microphone for calls
Microphone support means hands-free calls and voice control through the head unit.
DAB radio with an add-on
DAB digital radio works with an external DAB adapter, sold separately.
Screen mirroring
Screen mirroring shows your phone's screen on the head unit for apps outside CarPlay and Android Auto. Use it when parked.

- This unit ONLY works with the original BMW CIC system. A CIC system car radio usually comes with CD button, a 4-pin LVDS port, a BMW CIC Interface.

- If your car comes with NO audio AUX input or the AUX port is not functioning, you will need to order an FM transmitter to aid the installation. (XTRONS CA/ITR/FM02 and CA/ITR/FM03 are compatible.)
This is a plug-and-play replacement for the factory display, with an ISO wiring harness supplied. It connects to the car's AUX input for sound, so make sure AUX is enabled; without a working AUX input you'll need an FM transmitter such as the XTRONS CA/ITR/FM02 or CA/ITR/FM03. Cars with the CCC system need the QWBX8460CC.
How do I know if my car has CIC?
A CIC radio usually has a CD button, a 4-pin LVDS port and a BMW CIC interface. For the CCC system, choose the QWBX8460CC.
Which models does it fit?
The 3 Series and M3 E90, E91, E92 and E93, and the 5 Series and M5 E60 and E61, from 2009-2012 with the CIC system.
What if my car has no AUX input?
You'll need an FM transmitter. The XTRONS CA/ITR/FM02 and CA/ITR/FM03 are compatible.
Is CarPlay wireless?
Yes. CarPlay and Android Auto both connect wirelessly.
