XTRONS PX74MTVGS is a 7 inch Android 14 head unit, custom fit for a wide range of Volkswagen, SEAT and Škoda models, from the Golf MK5 and MK6 to the Octavia and Leon MK2. It adds wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, built-in 4G and an AKM DSP, with a CANbus box supplied.

Wireless Apple CarPlay
CarPlay connects to your iPhone without a cable, and works with iPhone 5 and later on iOS 8 and above. Maps, music and calls show on the 7 inch screen, with voice commands for hands-free control.
Your iPhone connects on its own when you start the car, so there's no cable to plug in. It needs an iPhone with wireless CarPlay support; check yours in Settings > General > CarPlay. A cable still works when you'd rather charge on the way.
Full-featured Android Auto
Android phones with Android 4.3 and above can run Android Auto on the head unit, with Google Maps, music apps and voice commands.
Maps, calls, messages and music from your Android phone appear on the car screen, with Google Assistant for voice control. It needs a phone with Google services, which most Android phones have. To connect without a cable, the phone must support wireless Android Auto too.
Global 4G
Insert a Micro-SIM card and the head unit has its own 4G connection for streaming and live navigation. A 4G antenna and SIM card slot cable are supplied, and USB tethering is there if you'd rather share your phone's data.
A SIM card in the head unit gives it its own internet connection for maps, traffic and streaming, so it doesn't need your phone's hotspot. You supply the SIM and the data plan; a data-only SIM is usually the cheapest way to do it.
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi lets the head unit join a phone hotspot or home network for updates and downloads.
AKM DSP sound
An AKM DSP chip handles the sound, with customisable modes and EQ settings for anything from classical to electronic music. A TDA7388 amplifier drives the speakers.
The unit doesn't support Dynaudio or Fender sound systems, so check your car's audio system before ordering.
The sound processor lets you tune the sound to your car: an equaliser, a delay for each speaker so the sound centres on your seat, and crossovers that keep deep bass away from small speakers. Start from a preset and change one setting at a time.
7 inch IPS screen
The 7 inch G+G capacitive touch screen runs at 1280×720 and uses IPS technology, so colours hold steady from the passenger seat too. It plays 2K video files.
Microphone for calls
A microphone comes in the box for hands-free calls and voice commands. Mount it near the driver for clear pickup.
Reversing camera
AHD cameras are supported, sold separately, and a camera cable is in the box. If your car has a 40pin or 36pin power port and an original reversing camera, you'll need the XTRONS VW reversing camera adapter cable to keep it working.
Connect a reversing camera and its picture appears on the screen when you select reverse. Automatic switching needs the reverse signal wired in. If your car already has a factory camera, check whether you need an adapter to keep it.
Screen mirroring
Screen mirroring shows your phone's screen on the head unit for apps outside CarPlay and Android Auto. Use it when parked.
Mirroring shows your phone's whole screen on the car screen, unlike CarPlay and Android Auto, which show apps designed for driving. It usually needs a companion app on the phone, and paid video streaming apps often block it.
Radio and DAB
The SI4755 radio has RDS for FM. DAB digital radio works with an external DAB adapter, sold separately.
Digital radio gives clearer sound and more stations than FM where there's DAB coverage. It needs a DAB aerial: a stick-on windscreen aerial is the usual choice, or a splitter if your car already has a combined FM and DAB aerial.
Octa-core and Android 14
A 12nm octa-core 2.2GHz processor runs Android 14 with 4GB DDR4 RAM and 64GB storage. It's tested to work from −30°C to +80°C.

The unit is custom fit, with two ISO wiring harnesses, a radio cable adapter and CANbus box supplied. Some SEAT consoles need an extra fascia panel (ICE/ACS/11-581, or ICE/ACS/11-609 for the Leon), cars with a 52pin power port need the AK/VW/ISOMQB ISO cable, and cars with a 40pin or 36pin port and a factory reversing camera need the XTRONS reversing camera adapter cable. Compare your T5 or Škoda centre console with the product photos before ordering.
Will it fit my SEAT Leon?
It fits the Leon MK2 from 2005-2012, but depending on the centre console you may need the XTRONS ICE/ACS/11-609 fascia panel. Compare your console with the product photos.
My car has a 52pin power port. What do I need?
The XTRONS AK/VW/ISOMQB ISO cable.
Does it work with Dynaudio or Fender sound?
No. It doesn't support Dynaudio or Fender sound systems.
Which SIM card does the 4G use?
