A 7 inch Android head unit that fits a long list of Volkswagen, SEAT and Skoda models, from the Golf MK5 and MK6 and Passat to the Octavia, Superb and Leon Mk2. It adds CarPlay, Android Auto, built-in 4G and an EQ with a 4x45W amplifier, and the CANbus box keeps the car's own information on screen.

Which cars it fits
The unit fits a wide range of Volkswagen models, including the Golf MK5 and MK6, Golf Plus, Jetta, Passat B6 and B7, Polo MK5, Tiguan, Touran, Caddy, Sharan and T5, as well as the Skoda Fabia, Octavia, Roomster, Yeti and Superb and the SEAT Alhambra, Altea, Leon Mk2 and Toledo. Some cars need an extra part. Certain SEAT consoles need the XTRONS ICE/ACS/11-581 fascia, and some SEAT Leons the ICE/ACS/11-609. A T5 with a quadrate-shaped console won't take it, and some Skoda consoles won't either, so compare yours with the photos before ordering.
The face panel is 233/248x113mm, and there's no DVD drive.
Apple CarPlay
CarPlay puts your iPhone's maps, music and messages on the 7 inch screen, where they're easier to see and tap than on the phone. Siri takes requests by voice.
Your iPhone connects on its own when you start the car, so there's no cable to plug in. It needs an iPhone with wireless CarPlay support; check yours in Settings > General > CarPlay. A cable still works when you'd rather charge on the way.
Android Auto
Android phones get full-featured Android Auto, with Google Maps and music apps in a simple layout and Google Assistant for voice control.
Maps, calls, messages and music from your Android phone appear on the car screen, with Google Assistant for voice control. It needs a phone with Google services, which most Android phones have. To connect without a cable, the phone must support wireless Android Auto too.
Built-in 4G
A built-in 4G LTE module supports European and Asian networks. With a SIM card, navigation and music streaming keep running without your phone. A 4G antenna and SIM card slot cable are in the box.
A SIM card in the head unit gives it its own internet connection for maps, traffic and streaming, so it doesn't need your phone's hotspot. You supply the SIM and the data plan; a data-only SIM is usually the cheapest way to do it.
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi connects the unit to a hotspot or your home network for app downloads and updates.
7 inch IPS screen
The 7 inch display runs at 1024×600 with a Grade-A G+G touch screen, so it responds well and stays clear from both seats.
DSP and EQ
The advanced EQ system lets you customise the sound in detail, so you can balance it across the cabin and suit it to your speakers.
The sound processor lets you tune the sound to your car: an equaliser, a delay for each speaker so the sound centres on your seat, and crossovers that keep deep bass away from small speakers. Start from a preset and change one setting at a time.
4x45W amplifier
A TCB001HQ amplifier rated at 4x45W keeps the sound stable at different volume levels, from town driving to the motorway.
The built-in amplifier drives your car's speakers directly, which is all most cars need. If your car has a factory amplifier, as many premium sound systems do, it usually stays in use and may need an adapter, so check before ordering.
Reversing camera
A camera cable is in the box for adding a reversing camera. If your car has a 40pin or 36pin power port and an original reversing camera, order the XTRONS ICE/SS/VWCANOI to keep the factory camera working.
Connect a reversing camera and its picture appears on the screen when you select reverse. Automatic switching needs the reverse signal wired in. If your car already has a factory camera, check whether you need an adapter to keep it.
Screen mirroring
Screen mirroring shows your phone's display on the head unit, handy for apps that don't run in CarPlay or Android Auto. It's best used when parked.
Mirroring shows your phone's whole screen on the car screen, unlike CarPlay and Android Auto, which show apps designed for driving. It usually needs a companion app on the phone, and paid video streaming apps often block it.
USB
Two USB cables and a USB cable adapter are included for connecting phones and USB drives.
External microphone
An external microphone can be connected for clearer hands-free calls and voice commands.
DAB radio
The unit supports an external DAB tuner for digital radio, sold separately.
Digital radio gives clearer sound and more stations than FM where there's DAB coverage. It needs a DAB aerial: a stick-on windscreen aerial is the usual choice, or a splitter if your car already has a combined FM and DAB aerial.
Car information and performance
The CANbus box keeps original features working after the upgrade and shows car information such as ACC control and mileage on the screen. An Octa-Core A55 processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage keeps everything running smoothly.

The unit comes with ISO wiring harnesses, a CANbus box and a radio antenna cable. If your car has a 52pin power port, you'll also need the XTRONS AK/VW/ISOMQB ISO cable. Some SEAT models need an extra fascia panel (ICE/ACS/11-581, or ICE/ACS/11-609 for some Leons). Check the year, dimensions and console shape before ordering.

It fits the T5 Multivan, Transporter and Caravelle from the listed years, but not if the centre console is quadrate-shaped.
