A plug-and-play optical fibre decoder box for Mercedes-Benz CL, CLS, E, S, SL and SLK models with the original COMAND APS NTG 1 system. It lets an aftermarket head unit work with the car's MOST bus audio system.

Is it right for your car
This decoder box is for cars with the original COMAND APS NTG 1 system, which uses a MOST bus. It can't decode the D2B optical bus system used by COMAND 2.0 and COMAND 2.5, so check your vehicle's plug port before ordering.
Connecting it
The box takes a stereo signal from the head unit's front left and right RCA outputs only, so set the fader to the middle in your new radio's balance menu.
Keep the fibre optic loop unbroken. Leave original parts such as CD changers, satellite radio and phone modules connected, or use a bypass loop; XTRONS ICE/ACS/FEXL009 or ICE/ACS/fiberloop is recommended. Then take out the sound system fuse for 15 minutes and refit it to reset the system.

The box is plug and play. Connect it to the fibre optic loop and feed it from the head unit's front left and right RCA outputs with the fader set to the middle. Keep the loop unbroken, using a bypass loop such as XTRONS ICE/ACS/FEXL009 if needed, and finish by removing the sound system fuse for 15 minutes and refitting it.
Does it work with COMAND 2.0 or 2.5?
No. It can't decode the D2B optical bus system used by COMAND 2.0 and COMAND 2.5. It's for COMAND APS NTG 1.
Which outputs does it use?
The head unit's front left and right RCA outputs only, so set the fader to the middle.
Which years does it cover?
CLS 2005-2008, E 2003-2008, S 2004-2006, SL 2005-2008, SLK 2005-2008 and CL 2004-2006.
