A 9 inch Android 14 car stereo for the Mercedes-Benz A-Class W169, B-Class W245, Viano and Vito W639, Sprinter W906 and the Volkswagen Crafter. It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, and adds wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, 4G and an HD output.

Wireless Apple CarPlay
CarPlay connects to your iPhone wirelessly, bringing maps, calls and music onto the 9 inch screen without plugging in.
Your iPhone connects on its own when you start the car, so there's no cable to plug in. It needs an iPhone with wireless CarPlay support; check yours in Settings > General > CarPlay. A cable still works when you'd rather charge on the way.
Full-featured Android Auto
Android phones connect to Android Auto wirelessly or with a USB cable, putting Google Maps and your music apps on the dash.
Maps, calls, messages and music from your Android phone appear on the car screen, with Google Assistant for voice control. It needs a phone with Google services, which most Android phones have. To connect without a cable, the phone must support wireless Android Auto too.
9 inch QLED screen
The 9 inch high definition quantum dot screen runs at 1280×720 with strong, clear colour, and plays 4K video.
IPS viewing angles
The IPS panel keeps the picture clear at wide angles, so the passenger can see it as well as the driver.
Snapdragon 665 with 8GB RAM
A Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 with a Kryo260 CPU (4x Cortex A73 and 4x Cortex A53 cores) runs at up to 2.0GHz on an 11nm process. 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM give you room for apps, maps and media, and Android 14 runs smoothly.
DSP and DTS digital sound
The Si47925 audio processor adds DTS decoding, and the DSP lets you tune the sound to the cabin. Fully digital audio output helps keep interference out of the sound.
The sound processor lets you tune the sound to your car: an equaliser, a delay for each speaker so the sound centres on your seat, and crossovers that keep deep bass away from small speakers. Start from a preset and change one setting at a time.
TDA7808 amplifier
The automotive-grade TDA7808 amplifier chip uses high-efficiency digital processing to drive the speakers.
The built-in amplifier drives your car's speakers directly, which is all most cars need. If your car has a factory amplifier, as many premium sound systems do, it usually stays in use and may need an adapter, so check before ordering.
Optical and RCA audio outputs
Optical and RCA audio outputs let you add an external amplifier or processor if you want to build a bigger system.
RCA pre-outputs send a clean, low-level signal to an external amplifier or subwoofer. Count the channels you need (front, rear and sub) against the outputs in the specifications. You'll also need RCA leads and power wiring for the amplifier.
HD output for rear screens
The built-in HD port sends video to another screen, so passengers in the back can watch a film from the stereo.
It sends video from the head unit to headrest or roof screens, so passengers can watch on the move. The screens need an input that matches this output, so check the connection type in the specifications before buying them.
Integrated 4G LTE
With a SIM fitted, the stereo has its own 4G connection for navigation apps, tracking and sharing the internet with passengers. In Europe it supports bands 1, 3, 7, 8, 20, 28, 38 and 40, so check your network uses them.
A SIM card in the head unit gives it its own internet connection for maps, traffic and streaming, so it doesn't need your phone's hotspot. You supply the SIM and the data plan; a data-only SIM is usually the cheapest way to do it.
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi connects the stereo to a hotspot or your home network for streaming and updates.
Screen mirroring
Screen mirroring shows your phone's display on the 9 inch screen, for apps that don't run in CarPlay or Android Auto.
Mirroring shows your phone's whole screen on the car screen, unlike CarPlay and Android Auto, which show apps designed for driving. It usually needs a companion app on the phone, and paid video streaming apps often block it.
USB
USB connects a phone for wired Android Auto, or a USB drive for music and video.
Bluetooth
Bluetooth handles the wireless connection for CarPlay and Android Auto, so your phone links up without a cable.
Microphone for calls
The stereo supports a microphone for hands-free calls and voice commands.
External DAB
Digital radio is supported with an external DAB tuner connected to the stereo.
Digital radio gives clearer sound and more stations than FM where there's DAB coverage. It needs a DAB aerial: a stick-on windscreen aerial is the usual choice, or a splitter if your car already has a combined FM and DAB aerial.
