A 5 inch Android 14 head unit made to fit Jeep, Dodge and Chrysler models from around 1998 to 2009, including the Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, PT Cruiser and RAM. It adds wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, 4G and an AKM DSP, plus an inclinometer that suits off-road driving.

Wireless CarPlay
Your iPhone connects without a cable, so maps, music and calls appear on the 5 inch screen. Voice control keeps your hands on the wheel. It supports iPhone 5 and later models with iOS 8 and above.
Your iPhone connects on its own when you start the car, so there's no cable to plug in. It needs an iPhone with wireless CarPlay support; check yours in Settings > General > CarPlay. A cable still works when you'd rather charge on the way.
Android Auto
Full-featured Android Auto works wirelessly with Android phones on Android 4.3 and above, putting navigation and music on the head unit.
Maps, calls, messages and music from your Android phone appear on the car screen, with Google Assistant for voice control. It needs a phone with Google services, which most Android phones have. To connect without a cable, the phone must support wireless Android Auto too.
Inclinometer for off-road driving
Gyroscope sensors drive an inclinometer that shows the vehicle's ride height, roll and pitch angle, so you can see how far you're leaning on a rough track. There's a compass too.
AKM DSP
The automotive-grade AKM DSP chip lets you pick a sound mode and adjust the EQ to suit your music. The amplifier is a TDA7388 and the radio an SI4755 with RDS.
The sound processor lets you tune the sound to your car: an equaliser, a delay for each speaker so the sound centres on your seat, and crossovers that keep deep bass away from small speakers. Start from a preset and change one setting at a time.
Global 4G
Insert a Micro-SIM card and the unit has its own 4G mobile broadband for live maps and streaming. A 4G antenna and SIM card slot cable are in the box. USB tethering is also supported.
A SIM card in the head unit gives it its own internet connection for maps, traffic and streaming, so it doesn't need your phone's hotspot. You supply the SIM and the data plan; a data-only SIM is usually the cheapest way to do it.
5 inch IPS screen
The 5″ IPS display has a G+G high-resolution touch screen at 800×480. IPS keeps colours steady at wide angles, and the unit plays 2K video.
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi connects the unit to a hotspot or home network for downloads and updates.
Microphone
A microphone is included to fit near the driver for clearer hands-free calls.
Steering wheel control
Cars from 1999-2005 with the original amplifier and digital steering wheel control need an extra ISO wiring harness (XTRONS AK/PE51WRJL/PWRH). Cars with the CD player shown in the photo, which have the original amplifier and steering wheel control, need the AK/PE52WRJL/PWRH01.
Your steering wheel buttons keep working with the new unit, either through a CAN bus decoder or by teaching the unit each button. Check which your car needs before ordering. A few buttons may do nothing if the unit has no matching function.
Screen mirroring
Mirror your phone onto the screen for apps that don't run in CarPlay or Android Auto.
Mirroring shows your phone's whole screen on the car screen, unlike CarPlay and Android Auto, which show apps designed for driving. It usually needs a companion app on the phone, and paid video streaming apps often block it.
USB
2 USB cables are included for phones and memory sticks.
DAB with an external tuner
DAB radio is supported with an external tuner, sold separately.
Digital radio gives clearer sound and more stations than FM where there's DAB coverage. It needs a DAB aerial: a stick-on windscreen aerial is the usual choice, or a splitter if your car already has a combined FM and DAB aerial.

The unit is a custom fit with a 212x80mm face panel and comes with two ISO wiring harnesses and screws. Check the year, dimensions and shape of your centre console before ordering. Cars with the original amplifier and steering wheel control may need an extra harness: the XTRONS AK/PE51WRJL/PWRH or AK/PE52WRJL/PWRH01, depending on the car.
Does it work with my factory amplifier?
Yes, with an extra ISO wiring harness: the AK/PE51WRJL/PWRH for 1999-2005 cars with digital steering wheel control, or the AK/PE52WRJL/PWRH01 for cars with the CD player shown in the photo.
Will my factory navigation still work?
No. The original navigation system isn't supported, but the unit has its own GPS navigation.
What SIM card does it take?
A Micro-SIM card.
Does it have DAB?
DAB needs an external tuner, sold separately.
