The XTRONS IX82JCCL is an 8 inch Android 12 head unit for GM trucks, SUVs and cars including the Chevrolet Silverado, Tahoe and Suburban, the GMC Sierra and Yukon, the Buick Enclave and the HUMMER H2. It brings wireless CarPlay, Android Auto and 4G, and works with the BOSE and OnStar systems.

Wireless CarPlay
CarPlay connects your iPhone without a cable, putting maps, calls, messages and music on the dashboard screen. Siri voice commands let you keep both hands on the wheel. It supports iPhone 5 and later models with iOS 8 and above.
Your iPhone connects on its own when you start the car, so there's no cable to plug in. It needs an iPhone with wireless CarPlay support; check yours in Settings > General > CarPlay. A cable still works when you'd rather charge on the way.
Android Auto
Full-featured Android Auto connects wirelessly, with Google Maps, music and calls on the 8 inch screen and Google Assistant for voice control. It supports Android phones with Android 4.3 and above.
Maps, calls, messages and music from your Android phone appear on the car screen, with Google Assistant for voice control. It needs a phone with Google services, which most Android phones have. To connect without a cable, the phone must support wireless Android Auto too.
8 inch QLED screen
The 8 inch QLED screen gives rich, strong colour for maps, album art and video.
IPS viewing angles
The IPS panel holds its colours from the side, so the passenger has a clear view of the map as well.
4G mobile internet
Insert a Micro-SIM card and the unit has its own 4G connection, so streaming and online maps work wherever there's signal, without tethering a phone.
A SIM card in the head unit gives it its own internet connection for maps, traffic and streaming, so it doesn't need your phone's hotspot. You supply the SIM and the data plan; a data-only SIM is usually the cheapest way to do it.
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi lets the unit join a home network or a phone hotspot for app downloads and streaming.
ROHM DSP
The ROHM DSP lets you adjust the sound to suit your speakers and seating position, instead of living with the factory tuning.
The sound processor lets you tune the sound to your car: an equaliser, a delay for each speaker so the sound centres on your seat, and crossovers that keep deep bass away from small speakers. Start from a preset and change one setting at a time.
Coaxial and RCA outputs
Coaxial and RCA audio outputs make it straightforward to add an external amplifier or subwoofer.
RCA pre-outputs send a clean, low-level signal to an external amplifier or subwoofer. Count the channels you need (front, rear and sub) against the outputs in the specifications. You'll also need RCA leads and power wiring for the amplifier.
Screen casting
You can cast your phone to the unit's screen, for example to run GPS navigation from your phone on the bigger display.
Mirroring shows your phone's whole screen on the car screen, unlike CarPlay and Android Auto, which show apps designed for driving. It usually needs a companion app on the phone, and paid video streaming apps often block it.
USB
Two USB cables are in the box for connecting phones or USB devices to the unit.
Microphone for calls and voice
Microphone support lets you take hands-free calls and use Siri or Google Assistant without picking up the phone.
Android 12 and memory
Android 12 runs on a 12nm octa-core processor with 8GB DDR4 RAM and 128GB ROM, so several apps can stay open and there's room for downloaded music and maps.
The unit doesn't play discs.

The unit fits with the face panel, ISO wiring harnesses and CANbus box in the box. Check the year, dimensions and shape of your centre console, and your car's power harness, before ordering. If your radio harness is 44-pin, you'll need the XTRONS AK/PE72JCC/ISOCBL44 to fit the unit. The door chime reminder is kept.
