Keep the factory amplifier
In these Audis, the factory amplifier is linked to the radio by a fibre optic MOST25 network. Take the original radio out and the amplifier loses its signal, so the speakers go quiet.
This decoder box sits in that network and passes the sound from your aftermarket stereo to the factory amplifier, so every speaker keeps working and you keep the original sound system.
