Functions
A 6 metre ISO Quadlock wiring harness with a Fakra antenna extension for fitting an aftermarket head unit to a BMW E38, E39, E46 or E53. It plugs into the factory 17/40-pin connectors, so nothing has to be cut or spliced.
- 6 metre length leaves slack to route the cables through the boot or cabin
- 17/40-pin ISO Quadlock connectors that match the factory wiring
- Keeps factory DSP, Harman Kardon and Bose sound systems working
- Shielded Fakra antenna extension for FM/AM reception
A plug-and-play harness for older BMWs
This kit connects a new head unit to the wiring in a BMW E38, E39, E46 or E53. The 17/40-pin connectors match the factory plugs, so you disconnect the original radio, plug the harness into the new unit, route the cables to the dashboard and reconnect the OEM connectors.
At 6 metres long, it reaches comfortably from the boot to the dash with spare cable for a tidy route. The shielded Fakra antenna extension carries the FM/AM signal to the new unit.
Keeps the factory sound system
The harness keeps factory DSP processing, and works with Harman Kardon and Bose amplifiers, so the original speakers and amplifier carry on as before.
If your factory radio has a DSP button, connect the male connectors to keep the sound system working.
The sound processor lets you tune the sound to your car: an equaliser, a delay for each speaker so the sound centres on your seat, and crossovers that keep deep bass away from small speakers. Start from a preset and change one setting at a time.

Will my Harman Kardon or Bose system still work?
Yes. The harness keeps factory DSP processing and works with Harman Kardon and Bose amplifiers. If your radio has a DSP button, connect the male connectors.
Which BMWs is it for?
The BMW E38, E39, E46 and E53 (1995–2008) with 17/40-pin connections.
Do I need to cut any wires?
No. It's plug-and-play with factory-style connectors, so the car's original wiring stays untouched.
