XTRONS CM179 is a 17.3″ Full HD IPS flip down roof screen running Android, made for coaches, buses and motorhomes. Rear passengers can stream video, mirror a phone or plug in an HDMI source without extra devices.
The 17.3″ IPS display runs at 1920×1080, and its 178° viewing angles mean passengers sitting off to the side still get a clear picture. That matters in a wide coach or motorhome where people aren't lined up behind the screen.
It plays 4K video with hardware H.265 decoding, and the screen tilts through a 180° range so you can angle it for the seats.
Passengers can mirror an Android 8.0+ or iOS 9.0+ phone to the roof screen without installing anything. It's an easy way to share a film or photos with everyone in the back.
Mirroring shows your phone's whole screen on the car screen, unlike CarPlay and Android Auto, which show apps designed for driving. It usually needs a companion app on the phone, and paid video streaming apps often block it.
Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (2.4GHz/5GHz) connects the screen to a hotspot so it can stream Netflix, YouTube or Spotify directly. You can also download apps from the Android app store.
Play video and music files straight from a USB stick. An HDMI input lets you connect another source, such as a games console or media player.
Bluetooth 5.0 sends sound to a wireless headset, so one passenger can watch without disturbing the others. The screen supports 1 set of Bluetooth headphone or IR headphone only.
Dual high-power speakers are built in, and an FM transmitter can send the audio to the vehicle's radio.
CM179AH has an Allwinner A527 Octa-core processor (2.0GHz) with 4GB DDR4 RAM and 64GB ROM, running Android 14. It copes well with heavier apps and multitasking.
CM179AF is the quad core version with 2GB RAM and 32GB ROM on Android 12, which handles streaming, USB playback and mirroring.
Multi-colour aura lighting adds soft light at night, and automatic lighting control follows the door status so the cabin is lit as people get on and off. An IR remote lets you work the screen from any seat, and 26 UI themes let you match the interior.

The bracket mounts to the roof with the supplied nuts, and the screen clips to the bracket with a quick-release mechanism. The power cable includes the door-sync connection for the lighting. Professional installation is recommended because it ties into the vehicle's wiring, and check the bottom plate size and roof space first.
